COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launched and enthusiastically received at the first annual Halifax Seaport Beer Fest in August 2007, this ale has quickly become known as the hoppiest beer in Atlantic Canada! Imperial Pale Ale is a robust, medium bodied west coast style ale with a lingering hop bitterness complimented by a malty caramel backbone and a strong citrus character. This beer is for the true hophead!

bottle. Poured hazy orange-amber with a dense off-white head. Fresh aroma of citrusy hops. Medium-full bodied mouthfeel with a dry palate. Rich herbal hop flavour, citrusy grapefruit, pine, peppery. Finish is very dry, sticky and astringent.

Unclear orange of color with a white head. An aroma of grapefruit, pine and citrus. A flavor with a lot of citrus, grapefruit and pine. A lot of hops!

Pours a caramel color with nice creamy head and wonderful lacing...aromas of pine cones. On the palate a coffee boutique..almost espresso like..with a dried fruit sweetness. Awesome hoppy finish...very nice ipa.

Bomber through a trade, thanks! A gusher when the cap was popped but settled down quickly. Pours a cloudy orange/ruby with a smooth creamy head of an inch or so. Smells of grapefruit and citrus with some earthiness. Tastes quite overwhelmingly bitter, with plenty of citrus. There’s a nice woody flavor of some kind. I like it. I usually prefer a sweet double ipa but this is a decent change.

This IPA poured a cloudy golden colour with a nice, big, off white, foamy style head. To the nose there are scents of pineapple, lemon and grapefruit citrus, cream and cooked veggies. First taste was very sharp with hopps, creamy mouthfeel and bitter as bitter gets. Flavours of spruce, citrus and pine sap make this ale a real mouth number. Finish is bitter as hell with a light tea flavour lasting after the hopps subside.

Clingy sticky head with very unique lacing. Very hazy orange. No way you can see through this one. Head is just sticky and lingering and won’t go away. Not that that’s a bad thing. Immediately smelled that strong grapefruit scent I associate with IPA. I warn all IPA fans, I don’t like your beer. I am not a fan of IPA’s I only keep buying them because they seem to be the only new thing the local store will get in. Now on to this beer, I probably won’t like but will appreciate. Slightly sweet nose. Very bitter, bites you in the back of the throat OMG I’M AN IPA AND I WILL CHOKE YOUR UVULA!!! I’m sure IPA lovers will love this, marry it and serve it at the funeral. I still don’t like that grapefruit taste. Sorry IPA fans.

One of the best balanced IPA imperials, at 7% not overwhelming, great colour, top of mouth feel bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beauty amber pour with thick foamy white head. Sharp spruce hops in the aroma, with a hint of fruit. Sweet hops and a deep, bready alcoholic finish. I was expecting a bit more of a hop kick given the "Imperial" in the name, but I wasn’t disappointed. Could have used some more hops to hide the alcohol a bit better I thought... Good though.
