COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: ’To From’ is the perfect Christmas gift for lazy dudes. Just fill in the To/From card on the front label and put it under the three. ’To From’ is an easy drinkable christmasporter with light malty sweetness and a slight touch of X-mas spices.

Editor’s note: This is the 2007 edition. 2008 has a separate listing.

Style; glass: Strong Porter; snifter 25.4 fl oz x 8% ABV = 203.2 / 60 = 3.38 beers * 150 C = 507 calories (est.) Purchased at: The Foodery. #rd and Arch, Phila, PA for $25.00 Aroma: citrus, cocoa, alcohol, roasted malts, Visuals: fun, interesting, and intriguing packaging, the color of the remaining ashes of a burnt hearth, brown to black with a tan head, wholly opaque with a nice lace. Taste: Sweet, then bitter, very much about coffee, chocolate, and dark roasted malts. Palate: Well rounded mouthfeel, not drying. Overall: An absolutely amazing brew. I’d have it again if I could afford it. A favorite.

Bottle (thanks to Angeloregon)... Poured jet black with a rocky forming, light brown head. A little thin on the body. Some big roasted, chared malt characters. A hint of smoke, peat. Some toasted sweetness, vanilla. Super smooth, hardly any alcohol tones yet it reminded me of a stiff cocktail. Roast, campfire, dark chocolate, fresh pressed coffee, toffee toasted sweetness.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is of roast malt, dark fruit, and possibly some toffee. The flavor of this full-bodied brew is sweet and roasty with notes of chocolate. I’m not getting much spice. Maybe age has caused them to be more subdued. Very good brew despite that though.

12/12/11/12/8/12

Sampled at Gothenburg Beer Festival 2011. September 2, 2011
Pours liquid brown with a tired airy white head. Big Christmas aromas with orange peel, cloves, spruce and tea. On top of that some rich velvet chocolate aromas. The body feels slightly weak after the big aroma and is a small let down, though the taste is still good. More spices, a light tartness. Very tasty - would be a perfect Christmas gift for me at least!
