Smells Hoppy sweet, kind of like a hop fruit. Not like a grapefruit, literally like a Hop fruit, if one existed. Color is light orange with a small head. Tastes of fizzy paleness, with a full bodied mouthfeel.
Good.

Originally reviewed: 4/11/10. A friend brought this to a cookout last night. I’ve wanted to try this one. Poured into a mug. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head on top. Great retention; left lots of sticky lace. Big sharp resiny pine scent. Sinus-clearingly powerful.
Great crisp mouth. Moderate body. Pretty bitter and resiny in flavor as well. A little much for the style. Some sweet candy-like finish. Malt bready balance is lacking. Reminds me of a mild IPA. Not my favorite of the style, but it’s not bad.

Aroma: A hopped brightness not to be expected from any pale ale /Nice enough to be made into a cologne
Appearance: Typical pale ale slightly on the dark side
Taste: Wonderful brights of citrus an wheat, akin to a key lime or lemon merange made with beer just a touch of hops
Pilate: Typical and moderate in all regards
Overall: Bright and wonderful... let’s leave it at that

Bottle. Pours a nice clear golden color with a foamy white head. Aromas of fresh herbal hops dominate; but not overly so. Well carbonated but somewhat thin overall. Another pretty easy to drink APA

Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Pours a bright amber color with creamy off-white head, little lacing. Strong aromas of bread, aggressive American hops and ale yeast esters. Taste is true-to-style for an American Pale Ale but more malt complexity than typical: I’m picking up plain pale, some caramel, maybe some biscuit or aromatic and even a little roasted barley or other unmalted grain. I’m not sure what "honey malt" is, but the resulting beer tastes great.

A soils APA. Nicely balanced easy drinking. I am hoping that New Belgium makes this their next canned offering.

A: The beer pours a clear amber color with two fingers of solid off-white head.
S: Smells of citrus hops and a bit of stale bread. Plenty of floral hop notes, which are probably the best part of the aroma. A light toast note and just a little bit of bread. Not much else...
T: The flavor is a bit grassy with a moderate bitterness. A little bit of citrus peel flavor along with some floral hops. Bready malt with some toast and pale, cracker malts.
M: Medium bodied with a moderate to high carbonation.
O: Just an okay example of a pale. Don’t think I would make this one a repeat beer.

Light amber with slight off white head, holds a lace. Sweet and slightly floral nose. Excellent feel in the mouth from start to finish. Grass and floral predominate in the hops, with little residual malt flavour. Overall a very enjoyable american pale ale.
