COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

Shared bottle from Ol Beer in Walnut Creek, CA. This bottle was aged to perfection. Smelled of dark fruits and molasses. Upon first taste the first thing I thought of was Fig Newton’s. Very well done beer.

33cl bottle from 2008. Almost point black with small tanned head. Nose : Dried fruits and cherry esters. Coffee like roasted malts. Wood resin. Sip : The density is medium with oily feeling. Sweet with aromas of dried fruits ending with dry coffee like feeling. The overall balance is transition of delicate and fine layers. Nice beer but somehow I had more fun with a regular Pannepot. Maybe the texture was more "cool" .

Bottle 33 cl. Pours beautiful black brown with ruby tones, great creamy dark tanned head leaving nice lace. Aroma is malty, a bit sour, oak barrel, a bit sweet and caramel, spicy and belgo yeast. Flavor is fullbodied, sweet, malty, pungent, yeasty, very nice Belgo touch, peppery, fruity, great bitterness and oak barrel. Finishes with a longlived bitter and malty aftertaste.

33cl bottle, 2005 vintage, 02/02/2012. Pours deep brown, opaque, with thin, quickly fading head. Nose carries dark honey, apple plum, vanilla caramel, spicy oak finish. Taste carries dark fruits, plums evident, slight tartness, caramel, some spices near the end, bit of roast and nice barrel presence in the finish. Palate is medium thin, but coating, and smooth. Me favorite treatment of Pannepot- though the spiciness is a bit muted, I love how the Calvados treatment shines through, adding a bit of sweet tartness. Note: Also tried a 75cl bottle last night of same vintage, and it was clearly going south and a bit sour- maybe best to move on to newer vintages here.

2005 Bottle picked up at Binny’s, I think. Pours the typical deep brown with a persistent fluffy head. The nose is a punch of vanilla, light fruity esters and a slight tartness. The barrel is really quite prominent here. Spicy phenols persist as well. On tasting, an appley note with more booze than I’d like. Lots of the good Pannepot character, strong phenolics, alcohol & vanilla come through. Definitely interesting and with a bit less booze it would be superd.

Dark cola color pour with small tan head. Aroma of malt, red fruit, red wine and slighty oaky. Taste is ripe fruit, red wine, green apple and slightly oaky. Nice mouthfeel with the perfect carbonation and a slight tartiness present. Excellent and very enjoyable beer.

Sweet vinous aroma. Oak and mild fruit. Beer pours opaque brown with a thin head. Surprised at how smooth this beer is. Brown and toasted malt flavor balanced with fruit and wine. Finish is very nice with just a touch of oak.
