COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

2008 bottle very dark brown with a large tanned head. aroma is sweet, chocolate, raisin, dark brown sugar, some wine notes. taste is smooth and sweet with apple brandy. complex, spicy, with restrained (coffee) bitterness. cherries, chocolate and calvados oak are abundant. At a push, i’d take the standard pannepot for its smoother profile, but this is still fantastic (probably better than the reserva).

At Stephens with Stephen and Dave. Pours murky brown. Aroma is some cardboard, figs, raisins, light fruity notes. Taste is some oxidation, silky soft caramel. The beer is right years old at this point, it has really smoothed out, but is slightly too oxydized.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Eric. Thanks man! Pour is murky brown with a small tan head. Big bready, caramel, slightly oxidized, banana, dark fruits, red licorice, figs, and raisins in the aroma. Taste is bread, cardboard, banana, raisins, dates, brown sugar, belgian yeast, and soy sauce. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Not bad for its age and I can see the potential, but this one is definitely past its prime.

’08 Bottle from tiong-thanks! Deep brown with some mahogany red. Nose is initially ginger ale, and cola, becoming more belgian quad-like with brown sugar and prunes. Thinner than I expected. Cola, brown sugar, some dried dark fruit. Not really oxidized, but I think everything is muted here and this is on it’s way out.

Pours a rich deep brown with a thinner than expected tan head. The body of this beer is beautiful though. Aroma hits you as soon as you start pouring it into the glass. Pull it closer to your nose and it fills your nostrils with hints of cherry, brown sugar, oak, whiskey, and dried dark fruits. Very complex aroma, very appetizing. Flavor is bold, but not as bold as the aroma lets on. Dark fruits, wood, molasses, cigar smoke, and charcoal flavors are all intertwined in this delicious beer. Also, at 10% abv, the alcohol is expertly hidden in this one. Not nearly as boozy as you’d expect. The beer is smooth on the palate and is carbonated perfectly. Not quite as full bodied as I’d like but that’s nitpicking at this point. Overall this is one of the better beers that I’ve had in awhile and will probably break into my top 5 "Belgian style" ales. Very good beer.

Rating #1017 - March 7, 2014 - Derek’s #botw and #beerguychrisgeekbeer for #week9. Bought 3 of these, one for review and two for the cellar. Dark brown pour with a bubbly tan head, decent retention.heavy on carbonation Aroma is quite fruity. Full bodied. Creamy, buttery mouthfeel. Taste is ripe black currant, raisin, toffee, spiciness. Extremely smooth finish and a lingering taste of sweet malt. Superbly smooth, candy and red wine feel throughout. Fantastic.

Bottled 01/03/14. 2006 Vintage. A purply black coloured beer which pours with no head. A delicious rich thick boozy aroma. Oaky for sure. Molasses and soy. Fruity strong rich and thick in the mouth. Boozy oaky fruity and yeasty. Salty soy notes again. Very enjoyable. A treat..

Pours a cloudy deep brown with a small patchy tan head. Aroma is spicy Belgian yeast, dark dried fruits notably plums, dark candied sugars, and lightly sour. Taste is wood, mildly sour, dark dried fruits, cherries, plums, raisins, spicy Belgian yeast, some wine characteristics and candied sugars. Really digging the light woody/fruity sourness.

Bottle, vintage 2005. Pours dark brown, with a finger thick, creamy mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts, nuts, spices, alcohol and prunes. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is malty with plums, oak barrels, spicy hints of aquavit, fruit and kandi giving a quite tart fruity finish.

Vintage ’05 on the bottle. Pour is deep brown with a tight tan head. Nose has a ton of rich dark malt, figs, brown sugar, red grapes, a bit oxidized, nutty, cardboard, and boozy notes in back. Taste is also a good bit oxidized. The cardboard is strong with the rich malt being faded. Brown sugar and fig with booze in back. The cardboard lingers through the finish. Medium to full body, fairly good carbonation.

Vintage 2008. Arcy klasyk, swietne i niesamowite piwo. Perfekcyjnie trafia w moj gust, niczego nie moglem sie przyczepic po tym leciwym piwie. Czarne oleiste, moze lekko czerwony refleks gdzieniegdzie sie zauwaza. Zapach intrygujacy, porto, scherry, sliwki trufle i gozka czekolada. W smaku te same wrazenia ale dochodza powidla sliwkowe i zmwlaszcza pieczone jablka, troche rumu i wspaniala rozgrzewajaca koncowka. Wytrawna i dluga. Piana gesta zoltawa ,srednio obfita ale jak na tak mocne piwo utrzymuje sie dosc dlugo, oczywiscie znaczac swoja obecnosc na pucharku. Godne poleceniu wyrachowanemu i doswiadczonemu piwoszowi. Jak najbardziej zalecane piwo do stazenia. Jeszcze raz podkresle, to artyzm i mistrzostwo wazenia i kondycjonowania tego piwa.
