COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Vintage 2005"
Our PGR has aged for 24 months on oak barrels and has been bottled for the first time on the 27th of December 2007. The main difference with the Pannepot Reserva is that PGR matured the last ten months on Calvados oak barrels, adding extra complexity to the beer. We dedicate this beer as a tribute to Jeppe & Michael of Ølbutikken in Denmark. Those gentlemen were the first to discover our beers on an International basis back in 2004 and are responsable somehow for our beers being all over the globe since then. As a token of gratitude towards Jeppe & Michael, the first shipment of PGR was scheduled to Ølbutikken so they could be the first to launch its commercialisation.

2008 bottle very dark brown with a large tanned head. aroma is sweet, chocolate, raisin, dark brown sugar, some wine notes. taste is smooth and sweet with apple brandy. complex, spicy, with restrained (coffee) bitterness. cherries, chocolate and calvados oak are abundant. At a push, i’d take the standard pannepot for its smoother profile, but this is still fantastic (probably better than the reserva).

Pitch black, no head. Aroma of plum, dark fruit, berries, alcohol, oak, red wine. Taste is similar, oak more intense, caramel and chocolate. Soft to flat carbonation, creamy texture, medium body and medium sweetness. Complex and interesting one.

2010 vintage from Belgium in a Box - Rich deep ruby body, thick off white head. Aroma is a light combination of candied sugar, spice, cinnamon, oak and alcohol. Flavour is consistent with the aroma with raisin, caramel, sweet malt, an alcohol tingle with little sweetness and acidity on the finish. Smooth and light feel and a creamy texture of the body of this beer makes it fully bodied. Really quaffable.

Bottle@stapabar. Dark brown, clear. Very nice, rich plum dark fruity, soft oaky nose. Full bodied, quite balanced, though, easy. Good dark fruits, strong malty sweetness, oaky leathery. Full of flavours, but nice balanced easy..

2009 bottle. Thanks ShroudofDoom! This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a dark ruddy brown color with a slim white head that dissipated to a soft glaze of lacing. It slid nicely. The smell had a soft sweet dark fruit with a light sweet cherry, a little bit of coffee and a light chocolate shaping the aroma nicely. The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors and gave an extremely sticky dark fruity aftertaste leading to a sweet wet fruity finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation was barely there but that’s okay considering this was a 2009 bottle. Sweet smooth sticky notes cling nicely to the feel of the beer over my tongue. Overall, oh wow, what a wonderful Belgian Strong Ale. For fans, this should be on everyone’s list.

Bottle. A lot like reserva with more fruit flavors and barrel character. Dark brown. Complex and delicious.

Bottle. Another dark brown / ruby pour with a little off white head. Similar to the Reserva but adds a little more fruity sweetness and spice. Base beer still shines through. Very nice.

(2010 bottle) Reddish brown colour with not much head on top. Aroma has tannin, red wine, chocolate, plums and dried fruits. Taste has chocolate, tannin and vanilla. Really soft flavours. Soft round and full body with minimal carbonation. New flavours coming up after every sip, great beer to enjoy nice and slow.
