COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.

Seems very refined, like a fine cognac. Certain members of their field seem a step above everything else in a certain way... Grace Kelly or Cary Grant in acting, for example. Orval is like that for me, and dry and sour at the same time, the only time I’ve experienced this in a beer.

Ottima birra trappista. Tripel atipica con punta acidula che la rende unica nel suo genere.

0,33 l bottle. Bottled exactly 13 months before. More foamy head than beer in the glass. Uncloudy light orange. Sour hopy on the nose. Starts bitter fruity. Later hopy bitter, with sourness. High carbonated. Don´t expected such a sour beer under the flag of Trappist.

Little hazy orange beer, medium head that stays a long time. Aroma is spicy and cidery. Tastes little like dry apple cider. Some earthy notes.

I find myself again at odds with a few people. This has a huge aroma on opening, but then I found that, for me, it was too sour and cider like, and thin on length, and not a lot of depth. BUT this does not make this a bad beer just one that I might not be in tune with

Pressie from Essie. Poured big head. Cloudy as I poured in the yeast.... Smells great. Tastes great. Not as out there as lots of Belgians. Really like this beer. Could drink lots in one sitting. TASTY!!! Tasted at 6.2%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours cloudy orange with big head. Aroma: funky, fruits, some cherry, grass, wood. Generally quite pleasant. Taste is funky notes and nice herbal bitterness. Complex and interesting beer with good drinkability.

Bottled on 6/27/2013. Very loud hiss upon cracking the cap. Color is light amber and hazy. Head is composed mostly of large bubbles, but doesn’t dissipate at all. 5 minutes in and the head is still as large as when it was poured. Aroma is reminiscent of a sour, with some funk, citrus, breadiness and apples. Taste is different from the other Belgian ales I’ve tried. Slightly sweet and that barnyard funk is in the forefront. Some oakiness and bitterness, as well as some citrus and apples. Heavy carbonation cleans your palate, and mouthfeel is on the light side of medium. Very complex and enjoyable beer.

From 33 cl bottle, 6 months old. Sweet fruit aroma, like sweet summer fruits. Pours clear amber brown with slightly off-white foamy head. Lots lasting. Sour apple. Eathy malts. Light bitterness and light sweet. Watery texture, light carbonation.

Poured into Trappist glass. Cloudy, bronze colored with frothy 2 finger white head. Smells grassy and fruity. As the beer warmed, it tastes a slight sour fruit with malt and slight hop taste to it. Medium, low carbonated palate. Ok beer for me, could of been better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
