The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Jet black fluid rolls out of the bottle. A very finely beaded mocha head forms on top and stays till the end. Stale dark chocolate, anise, espresso. Sweey/ sour/ tangy? Finishs with alcohol soaked toasted raisons. A more jammy, less roasty go at the style. Freakin’ yummy.

Huge bottle split a few ways. Black pour with a dark tan head. Heavy on the roast, bitter chocolate, light vanilla, fruity coffee and some slight abv heat. Really smooth and balanced!

Tasting session at Only Good Beer Pub Budapest. Black, thick, chocolate, coffee, all the usual suspects. Quite dry, nice thick mouthfeel but doesn’t have the syrupy viscosity of a BA stout. Very well made beer though.

750 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Pitch-black with a large brown head. Lots of caramel in the aroma (reminds me little of the smell of a coca cola), also roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and licorice. Taste reflects the aroma, but more roast. Medium to full-bodied. Medium bitterness. Medium carbonation. --------&# "Oh, and i love the label!"

Intense aroma of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and raisins. The taste is similar. Fantastic balance!

Bottle (bottled about two years ago). Pours jet black with a one inch dark mocha head. Looks great. Aroma has lots of licorice, roasted malts, some caramel and sweet malts, alcohol after it has warmed. Taste is similar: roasted malts, caramel. A moderate sweetness up front followed by a moderate to medium bitterness. Full bodied and slick. Soft carbonation. Finishes very dry.

Roasted malts, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, licorice, dark fruits, slight coffee.

A pitch black beer with a thick lasting light brown head.

Starts sweet and slightly bitter, ends bitter and slightly sweet. There is not much depth here, but it is insanely good.

75cl bottle served in a teku glass. Pours black with a massive dark tan head which lasts well. Aroma is powerful dark chocolate and espresso notes. Taste is massively powerful with medium sweet and high bitterness and some quite harsh edges to the chocolate and dark fruits with a slightly ashy finish. All in all an excellent stout but the alcohol is very evident and the edges quite harsh. Will lay down the other bottle for a couple of years and re-review.
