Poured into my bruery tulip. Jet black with a finger mocha head. Aroma of oak, dark fruits and vanilla. Taste follows the nose with added coffee notes. Very smooth, hides alcohol well, moderate carbonation. This is an amazing beer that I will seek out and stock up for my cellar

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phredrik (881) - Aalborg, DENMARK - APR 26, 2012
75 cl bottle thanks to Jakob. Pours deep black with a nice brown head. Aroma is very unique - wood, not spirit unfused - just plain ole wood. Feels "dry" in the aroma, hard roasted coffee beans, chocolate and brownie to follow, a hint of dark fruits, a trace of alcohol too. Taste is similar - roasted, woody and dry. Notes of coffee, chocolate, brownies and dark fruits, a hint of café latté bittering hops in the finish. Very bitter, both roasted and hoppy, on the palate. Body feels a bit thin, not very viscous, and the carbobation level is high for an 11% beer. Could use some sweetness to even out.
