The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!

Had this one in the fridge for awhile and felt i had to psyche myself up a bit before i could finally crack it open. Once i did pop the bastard little cork, i carefully tilted the mystical bottle and poured myself a sipping glass of black wonder. Witnessed a ruby dark black that shifted to pitch midnight tone once fully poured. No head rested on top, just a glass of "what the hell am i about to drink?" Shifted my nose towards the rim and was treated to a very complex array of smells...cherries, port, brandy, raisin, tar, cigar, pavement, grease, fig and plum. Taste was amazing...dropping (not just hints) but full blown novels containing roasted cold chestnuts, almonds, various forms of candied fruit, fig cake, whiskey pies, grandaddy’s rum, copper (like the taste of a penny). Flavour was very complex, somewhat overwhelming, highly alcoholic, and strangely, not hard to drink and enjoy. The finish is a real kicker, settling back in the inner valleys of the downtown part of the tongue and, like tiny scorpions, just sitting there for a while and lashing their tails...what a beautiful sting. By the end of this bottle I felt like I was living inside of a Melvins record.

Barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta, obfita drobno i średniopęcherzykowa ciemnobeżowa piana, ładny lacing. Aromat kawy, czekolady, whiskey, nieco alkoholowy, karmelowy, nieco owocowy. Smak bardzo mocno palony, kwaśnawy, lekko alkoholowy, z początku nieco słodkawy, a na końcu mega wytrawny. Krótka silna goryczka. Mocno palony posmak pozostaje w ustach. Butelka 26.04.2024

Pours pitch black with a huge brown head. Sweet, alchool, bourbon, sherry aroma, roasted malt, light coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy bitter with quite strong notes of alchool, also roasted malt, light sherry, a bit sharp. Long, heavy bitter and burned wood aftertaste. Alchool is a bit to strong overall.

Butelka 375 ml. Kapitalne, wielkie piwo.

Nice black color with medium head. Aroma full of cocoa and coffee with hinch of caramel and citrus. Taste: spicy, cocoa and coffee with milk with long roasty and hoppy resin bitterness and caramel finnish. Semi carbonated and smooth, alcohol is present but it is well covered. Very nice beer!

Massive, huge, intense beer. Jet black with a thick lasting tan head. Big roasted, burnt, malty, coffee, bitter dark chocolate flavours. Really long bitter burnt finish. Hugely boozy. Maybe a bit too much for me to be honest, but a lovely sipper none the less.

On tap at Kulminator in Antwerp, Belgium. Holy cow, this is intense. I mostly get coffee and chocolate and bitterness, but in a surprisingly smooth way - like dark bitter chocolate.

Bottle. Pours a thick black with a creamy mocca head. Aroma is cholocate, coffee, smoke and roasted malt. Taste is bitter but balanced, alcohol percentage is really showing. One of my favorite imperiale stouts.

Bottle. Pitch black, solid beige head. Aroma is massive and full of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, licorice, dried fruits. In taste sweet with roastiness, chocolate, dried fruits, molasses, licorice. Alcohol is showing only with the warming effect. All is finished with strong bitterness, although the beer is still wuite sweet in the finish. Very thick, oily in texture, full bodied, softly carbonated. One of the best in the style.

375 ml bottle at home from notes. Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is big roasted malt, ash, chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla with some coffee. The flavor is much of the same; dark roasted malt, chocolate, char, some smoke, dark fruit and caramel, boozy, very warming alcohol, big beer, had one years later that had mellowed a bit but still carried a pop.
