Had this one in the fridge for awhile and felt i had to psyche myself up a bit before i could finally crack it open. Once i did pop the bastard little cork, i carefully tilted the mystical bottle and poured myself a sipping glass of black wonder. Witnessed a ruby dark black that shifted to pitch midnight tone once fully poured. No head rested on top, just a glass of "what the hell am i about to drink?" Shifted my nose towards the rim and was treated to a very complex array of smells...cherries, port, brandy, raisin, tar, cigar, pavement, grease, fig and plum. Taste was amazing...dropping (not just hints) but full blown novels containing roasted cold chestnuts, almonds, various forms of candied fruit, fig cake, whiskey pies, grandaddy’s rum, copper (like the taste of a penny). Flavour was very complex, somewhat overwhelming, highly alcoholic, and strangely, not hard to drink and enjoy. The finish is a real kicker, settling back in the inner valleys of the downtown part of the tongue and, like tiny scorpions, just sitting there for a while and lashing their tails...what a beautiful sting. By the end of this bottle I felt like I was living inside of a Melvins record.

Svart färg med kaffe bärnstenskrona. Väldigt söt rostad doft. Stärkande söt balanserad alkohol smak med massa bitter kaffe i eftersmaken. Även choklad. Alkoholen sticker dock ut betydligt. Tur man redan är full. Haha! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

37.5cl bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest. Body is pitch black, head is big, brownish, rocky, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is roasty, light smoky, flavor is heavy roasty, dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, smoke, medicine, ash, toast, licorice. Heavy roasty bitter. Finish is long lasting extremely heavy bitter, roasty, hoppy and all shades of bitterness, alcohol is well covered, only appears in my stomach and later in my head. Full body, sticky, soft carbonation. Extreme dessert beer, quite sick, not too easy, great one.

A damn fine Imperial Stout! Black as midnight on a moonless night... Svart farve med mørk beige skum. Lukt av røykt og røstet malt, kaffe, sjokolade, bek og lakris. Smak av røykt og røstet malt, kaffe, sjokolade, unami, bek og lakris. Bittersøt avslutming. Almost Perfect Imperial. Tap @ Melkebaren.

Dark like crude oil colour with almost no creamy light brown head. Aroma and flavours of dark fruits, roasted coffe, roasted chocolate, tobacco and evident alcohol notice. Full, massive body, low carbonation, very complex, creamy taste, even more than Geore vs. Brian editions with concrete alcoholic note in finish. Aftertaste is sweet and at the same time liqueuric. Really complex beer which can easily kick your ass.

Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, burnt rubber, liquorice, coffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a massive bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit boozy, but judging by the taste (as opposed to my hand-eye coordination) I wouldn’t have guessed it’s that high. Frankly, hard to rate because it’s such a beast of a beer. Lots of dark chocolate and burnt rubber. Massive.

0,2 on tap at Kulminator pub in Antwerp-Belgium. Ciao Marko :-) (what a great evening). Pours oily black color with a medium-tall blackish cap (peculiar foamy head). Nose: the strongest blast ever of coffee, licorice, alcohol as well. Mouth: this beer is crazy and certainly not the one you long to drink during a prolonged tasting. Alcohol dominates the palate and disturbs you a bit, unless you sip it responsibly merely to perceive the madness of the brewer (bravo). dark chocolate, alcohol.
