COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
JLS Release #34: Double Dead Guy ~ initially released in kegs for JLS accounts, this new elixir will be launched in 750 ml ceramic bottles in the spring of 2008! D2 (our nickname for Double Dead Guy) is a new reincarnation of Rogue’s classic Dead Guy Ale. Mahogany in color, full bodied with an amazing mid-palette richness of toffee and caramel. The hops are evident also, with just enough to keep the maltiness in check. The finish lasts > 15 seconds!! D2 is Double the Fun! Malts: 2-row Pale, Munich, C15. Hops. Cascade for boil (because John was out pf Perle) and Crystal for aroma (because John was out of Sterling ...) IBU’s approx 50-60. 19.8 Plato Original Gravity, 4.9 Plato Terminal Gravity.

Pricey, but worth it. Tastes exactly how it is described- like Dead Guy, but double the hops. If you like hops and can drop 15-20 bucks on a beer, then this is what you’re drinking.

Dark copper color.. Rich nutty and brown in taste and aroma. Not overly alcoholic or strong and finishes with pleasant sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper color with a generous off white head. The nose is a blast of pine needle and resin. Full bodied with caramel and hazelnuts on entry, but citrusy hops quickly take over the mid palate and finish. Drinks very easy for such a big beer. Soft mouthfeel.

750 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with generous tan head. Pine aroma with a touch of caramel. Nice tandem flavor with some spicy hop notes combining with sweet maltiness. Usually I’ll taste the malt before the hops but with this they seem to hit me both at the same time. Hoppy bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Davros (1024) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 22, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2012 Pours hazy copper with a fading head. Nose shows copious amounts of malt; lots of caramel, toffee and some nutty notes. There’s also some spicy and resinous hops. Similarly malty flavours, with big bready characters and toffee, before the spicy, piny hops and hot alcohol rampage through. Pretty agressive, sharp and almost solvent/petrol-like. Carbonation is a little full on.

Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Malty and grainy aroma with a light sweetness. The flavor has some toffee sweetness, bread, some candy-like sweetness, and lighter hoppy notes. Not bad.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. Pours orangish-amber with a thick, creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts, vanilla, honey, barley, toasted wheat, and slight hints of banana. Full bodied with a velvety, almost sticky, mouthfeel and nice, smooth finish. Slight warming in the throat.

Draught. Copper clear with no head. Sticky sweat cinnamon allspice and clove aromas. It is like a horrible Christmas cake to taste . No character on the palate. Why did I order this.
