COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

my kind of stout - like coopers stout ramped up a few notches. fruity and tarry and bitter and thick, with a nice subtle leafy hop background, without the citric alcohol/cohumulone kick in the finish most US stouts go in for. the fruitiness is provided by the yeast not the hops - plums and pears rather than grapefruit and pine. it all hangs together and blends seamlessly in the mouth. lovely stuff, not trying too hard and not that complex but doing the basic stouty flavours really honestly and really really fantastically well. just lacking a really amazing 3D aroma. things are looking good this winter with this and black bear stout readily available round here.

Malty, sweet, heavy, dry hoppy carbonated finish, touch a black licorice, would not buy again. The heavy, slightly sweet, body with ale finish doesn’t blend well

Pour from the bottle is dark with a light brown head, aroma is rich malty and powerful overtones of alcohol, taste is roasted smokey, the finish leaves an alcohol vapor and bitters on the back of the tongue. Overall a solid imperial stout but I am not a huge fan.

Nice stout, tastes imperial, strong, but abv not detectable, hoppy, sort of like a black ipa, very sweet flavor as well, complex beer.

Bottle @ home. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roast, chocolate. Flavor is roast, dark chocolate, roasted caramel, some oatmeal. Finish is coffee bitterness, lingering black coffee flavor. Medium to full body, avarage carbonation.

Dark brown, tall head. Full body, medium flavor, smooth texture, big alcohol heat, . Bitter, predominantly and assertively, enough sweetness for a good balance. Toast, chocolate, Very nice stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ABV hides very well on this brew, most noticeable at the tail end with a little burn on the tongue. Inky black body, small creamy beige head. Medium weight body, very slippery. Not as toasty as some, but still very dark tasting (?). Very smooth and drinkable

$2.90 bottle from Wine Warehouse, CHO. Black with a dark brown head. Smells of licorice and chocolates. Thick, rich chocolates in the mouth, hint of metal, hint of fish. Would be an 8 if not for the metal and fish.

Good imperial stout. Abv very well hidden. Taste very one dimensional for me... All roasted malts with a good dose of hops, little to none coffee and/or chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
