4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml bottle into a tulip.
Pours a clear deep ruby red with a half finger reddish-tan head. Decent head retention forming a thin cap over the beer but lacing is practically nonexistent.
Aroma is nearly all cherries. Very reminiscent of cherry Kool-Aid. There are some Belgian Lambic undertones, however, with horse blanket and barnyard letting you know this isn’t a soft drink. Really a unique, inviting aroma.
Flavor carries over the characteristics of the aroma with sweet cherry juice along with tartness contributed by the cherries. However underneath the cherry is barnyard funk very typical of a Lambic. This serves to well balance out the fruit and add complexity. While this beer is on the sweet side it never gets cloying and the tartness really helps drinkability. Finish is only slightly sticky and a little drying.
Overall, I am very impressed with this beer and wish I would have opened it up over the summer when it was warmer. The alcohol is nowhere to be found and this is really a guzzler. I really need to seek out some more Krieks and see how this stacks up.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark ruby. Head light greyish beige. Nose fresh cherry yoghurt, not much else but a note of malts in the background. Taste is somewhat subtler and darker with some roastiness and moderate bitterness, but still very cherry-dominated, with a hint of alcohol. Body medium, carbonation average, finish somewhat dry. Not a fan of cherry beers, can’t really enjoy it much. But not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear reddish maroon color, off white head. Huge black cherry aroma. More cherries in the flavor with a bit of brownies, not overly sweet. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark garnet with a light, fine-grained, pink-cream-tan head. Nose is cherry liqueur, caraway rye bread, smoke, and malt. Big burst of cherry and booziness up front, followed by a longer, bitter, roastier, darker tone in the middle; the cherry carries through it, but that bitterness keeps it from being one-dimensional and it stays warm without being overly hot. There’s also skin and tannic elements to it that manage to keep it off the slippery slope of candied over-sweetness. The finish is long, aromatic, and cherry-liqueur-filled chocolate-like. Really, really pleasant.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at City Beer Hall. Flat ruby pour with a nose of cherry cough syrup. Tastes mostly of robitussin, cherry, sage, wood, and marzipan. Could use a bitterness kick to liven it up. Unusual brew.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Red whine colour with pink head fast disapearing. I love the cherry aroma - not perfumed...very natural. Nice carbonoation with cherry taste. It is crazy this one hides 8% ABV! Not heavy at all! Very drinkable. Have 10 of these in an ice bucked next to a swimming pool would made me nuts!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
The cheery aroma is dominant. Nice colour. The pinkish head just fades away immediately. Not my stile but a nice blend between the two drinks. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall too sweet.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20
A candied cheery aroma dominates from the first sniff while the garrnet hued pour with a short lived pinkish head, continues the cheery theme. Tastes like a Big Red on steroids. Sweet cheery and sour cheery flavors blend. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, similar to a Kriek but not as sour - more sweet.
