COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“a stout of great contention” We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

By comprehending the labyrinthine movement of time, one would not think it strange to trace the errant path of an ordinary object such as a cream dessert only to discover that it has been the cause of cultural disputes since the middle ages. The British founders of burnt cream and from Spain, crema catalana, both stand by their creative originality and we respect that, but it was the French Crème Brûlée, amid the strife of contention, that survived to represent our deliciously creamy brew. 9.2% abv • 25º plato • 195º L • 22 oz / 1/6 keg 2-row pale malt / dark caramel malt / vanilla bean / lactose sugar / kettle hops: columbus / aroma hops: horizon

One of thee best imperial stouts that I have tried. Very sweet and creamy this stout stands on its own.

Draft. Dark brown with a short tan head. Big, very very sweet, heavy vanilla nose. Dessert style and intense aromatics. Huge caramel topped ice cream flavor. Full body, very creamy texture, and a sweet, lightly roasted finish. Thanks Dane!

Bottle poured in a tulip galss, black with a seemingly liquid mocha head Aroma was extremely dominating & out of this world fantastic, sticky & sweet, crème brûlée, condensed milk, ice cream, vanilla pudding, caramelized sugar, caramel, milk, touch of booze when cold but not when room temperature, tastes is extremely sweet, you can almost feel liquid white sugar, crème brûlée, vanilla pudding, condensed milk, vanilla ice cream, slight porter aftertaste. I can still taste it, this remains an incredible experience for anyone who has a sweet tooth, this is pure liquid super-condensed desert. Not a beer for after shoveling the snow this is a true sipper and not for everyone but right for me yesterday.

Shared bottle @ Cardinal. Again - "WOW". This is really an amazing beer, and the skills behind this craft ale must be admired! To have a imperial stout taste like this is a wonderful feat. It pors whick with a dark tan head, dark as night in color. As you sniff in the aromas you’ll expect the usual dark malts and strong aromas of the imperial stout. But no, not with this one. The aromas are filled with.... Creme brulee... Vanilla and burnt brown sugar and some mild flavors from the malts. The alcohol is really well masked, as you can’t sense the 9,6%. The body is rich and the somewhat oily in mouthfeel. This is a beer you’ll enjoy and share with a good friend or partner on a cold day in front of the fireplace, or have it as a dessert after dinner. Recommended to everybody that likes creme brulee!

Pour a dark black with light head. Smells like a LOT of vanilla and cream. The taste of sweet vanilla is quite overwhelming for me, but it is very interesting and different than over stouts. I don’t really like this style, but it some one who would, might really love this beer.

Pours a black color with a creamy brown head. Very sweet smelling. I get some Irish cream along with milk and some chocolate. Taste is fairly sweet as well. I have heard a lit of good things about this beer but it was a little too sweet for my liking.

A favorite of mine during the season, but very sweet and carbonation dies off quickly.

Draught from a kolsch (yeah, i was confused too). Black beer with no head. Aroma is all vanilla. Taste has a ton of vanilla with burnt sugar and deep roasted malts. Huge syrupy mouthfeel. A great beer, but just a bit too sweet to be truly enjoyable.
