4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bitbucket (2082) - Kirkland, USA - JAN 7, 2012
This is a glass of awesomeness. Yeah, it looks great with a clear mahogany pour topped with off-white foam. Yeah it smells great with bits of cherry and oak. More of them in the taste. But I just love the tart juiciness of this beer.

Lucky enough to catch this on tap at la cave du vin in cleveland heights, poured into a slighly oversized wine glass.
A: nice red, with silky off white head with good retention
S: aroma of tart cherrys, slight wood
T: bitting tartness that subsides into the malt. Excellent

Found this randomly at Town Hall, saved this rate for #2500. Pour on tap is deep ruby red with nice thin slightly off white head. Aroma is fantastic, big funky leathery notes, some tobacco and more funk leads into tart fruit notes, hints of lemon and cherry with a touch of sweet vanilla as well, dark fruits interlaced. Taste, was an almost perfect mix of sweet fruity cherry and berry notes, dark fig and plum notes mixing into tart lactic and lemony sour notes, touch of bitter and dry funky leather and horseblanket, finishing with a sweet yet dry and still tart finish. Excellent.

Aroma has a slight funkiness to it - if it was great, I’d be damn close to giving this a 5. Amazing sour cherry tartness is balanced perfectly and ends without the sour face. It is just so damn good, get it if you can!
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 cakanator (447) - South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Rating milestones don’t matter. I don’t give 5’s out, this may well be the best beer i’ve ever had. From the tap at Dicicco’s in Ardsley, from notes of course. If ommegang wanted to make a dent in the sour ale race, they would make this a special release. Along with my dad and father in law, we took down a growler of it. Amazing red color, great carbonation. Aromas are decadent, wild sour fruits dancing, a berry medelly. The tartness isn’t what makes this beer, I always look to see balance, because without balance of what the beer should be it could be flat, or one dimensional, but this is special. Bursting flavor coats the palate, I could drink this all day and night. I’ve also had this one on tap at sierra for the record and it has matched the 5.0 rating. Very fortunate for me that I got to keep the embossed Rouge glasses from Sierra on top of it. Please for the love of god make this one again.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 wedgie9 (1441) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 12, 2011
I finally found the note that I thought was lost forever, sometimes moving has its perks. Tasted on draft at Sheffields in February or March 2010. Pours dark amber-red, with an average beige head that slowly recedes to thin lace. The nose is quite sour and funky, with tart raspberry and cranberry, lemon peel, balsamic, and just a hint of chocolate. The flavor features the tart fruits up front, with lemon peel, raspberry, and cranberry, moving to the balsamic, and malty notes of chocolate and barnyard. The body is medium and tannic, with average carbonation, and a long tart, sour, barnyard, and balsamic finish.

5.5 oz pour at Beachwood BBQ Sour Fest. Aroma of grass, funk, and rotting meat. Taste of sour cherries. A great beer. Would drink any time I see it on tap.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 HonusWagner (796) - Florida, USA - APR 7, 2011
Tart cherries, slight vanilla, oak, very smooth, and incredibly drinkable. One of the best sours I’ve had, and it was on draft. At a house party. Thanks Ryan, and Chung!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Butters (3014) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2010
Clear reddish pour with smallish tan head. Wonderfully cherry sweettart sour. Flavor is even better than the aroma.
Clean, a little vinegar acidity. Very nicely done.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 daleharshman (703) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 30, 2010
Draft at Churchill’s. Pours a nice red-brown with one finger of beige foam. Aroma is tart cherry and berries with lighter notes of funk and oak. Flavor has more nice tart fruit (cranberry, cherry, raspberry) and also some oak and balsamic notes. The tartness eventually emerges into a bit of fruity sweetness. This leans toward the puckering side but overall it’s a nice level of sourness. I really like all the fruit in this Flanders red -- it reminds me of a slightly more sour version of the Rodenbach Grand Cru. (300, 415)
