4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bomber. Pours a beautiful rosy red/brown color. Some slightly pink head, good lacing. Aroma is sour cherries up front with some great malt undertones as well. Is there a slight leather aroma too? Perhaps. Flavor is very complex, with sour cherry, yeast, and malt up front. As it cooled, I also tasted vanilla and bourbon notes imparted by the oak casking. All in all, this was quite remarkable. Special thanks to Andrew at QFC at the north Broadway location for pulling this out of the back for me. I will definitely continue to do my beer shopping at your store.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy darker amber color with a smallish off-white head on there. I get wine and nose up front in the aroma, then the cherries start to come through later. Taste is fairly sour and definitely smacks of cherry. Long aftertaste that makes you pucker for a while.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
2010 bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with small white head that diminishes to nothing. Aroma is some funk and sour fruit. Thin mouthfeel with light sour fruit, cherry skin and light tartness in finish. Very good

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Delicious. 2014 edition, drinking well before the "Best after" date but I did purchase a second bottle to age. Fizzy red pour - almost no head (dinging an appearance point for that) and 0 lacing which was a bit disappointing. Aroma of sour grapes, cherries, and wine. Quite a complex flavour, largely fermented cherries and white wine, but also has some yeasty funkiness and oak tones. Very worth checking out, and definitely worth aging. Current rating: 3.5 (as of March 2, 2015). We’ll see what it goes up to with a good cellaring!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, 2012 Reserve, Best After: 8/20/13.
Unclear red brown, tan foam fades fast. Aroma of tart fruity funk and wine barrel. Taste is lightly sweet n’ sour fruity funk, richer maltiness, woody and vinous. Softer carbonation, medium bodied, low hopped. Nicely balanced, well worth the wait. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(2014 Reserve - 10.7%ABV) 650ml waxed top bottle pours a clear red color with a fizzy white head that dissipates quite quickly and leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is cherries and wine grapes with some hints of yeast and funk. Taste is a cherry tartness with a malty sweetness and some earthy notes. Medium bodied with abundant carbonation leaving a tickle on the tongue. A tasty brew for the style and quite enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brown to red pour with a a fleeing white head. Big oak aroma, sweet taste not heavy on the cherry taste. heavy carbonation . This would be a good one to start someone on sours. Not an every day beer but I may have to put one up for aging

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I didn’t give a yawn for Abyss, but this is quality cherry.
Surprisingly carbonated and light opposed to my expectations
of a darker beer. I like Supplication and this has the cherry depth and wine
barrel aging that is complimentary and not cheap. A pale ruby appearance
a cool ass crow design logo on the bottle.
You would think light fizz AKA wine cooler ,
But, lo, behold a quality full bodied well blended cheery-esqe beer.
What a nice find!

Pungent prune and sweet malt aroma. Darker mellow guild in color with thin if tan head. Mellow start with sweet wine and high berry dry finish.

One of my favorite Deschutes seasonals. Hard to find this year (2014) outside of the brew pub or public house (pdx), but definitely worth every effort to find it!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
2012 bottle. Very fruity esters and emons and tart overtones. The tastes are outstanding with a hint of barrel aging . Just all in the right place. Not overly puckering like some sours can be. Really stands up to age.
