COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamilton’s Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. It’s the most complicated West Coast–inspired IPA we have ever brewed—mashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isn’t for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

bottle into big sam adams glass. Amber straw ale w/ average white head, looks innocent. Nose is fucking thick & oily. Citrus, grass, pine, everything- at once. Carbonated yet syrupy mouthfeel that puckers and lasts. There are a shit ton of malts to pull this off, but all I can focus on is the hops (of course). Herbal, sticky, acidic hops. What separates this 100+ IBU IIPA from the rest though, is really how deep & unrelenting the bitterness digs. You hit so many different flavors: lemons, limes, & grapefruits. Pine needles between teeth & sap on fingers. Diesel herb & Lemon Head candy. Great beer!

Rant: How does this beer NOT have a 100% style rating??? Oh, & I just lol’ed at so many ratings like ’not even as hoppy or a palate wrecker as -insert whateva’ your favorite/typical amazing 7% IPA is-’.......Yeah, OK.

Pours orange-amber with generous white head. Strong citrusy-hop aroma. Flavor is bright, citrusy hops followed by a smooth malty middle and a pleasantly bitter finish. If you’re not a hop-head, don’t get within 20 yards of this. Actually you probably shouldn’t even be reading this.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours amber orange with a nice thick 2cm of off-white head. Really attractive beer. Nose is huge grapefruit, unripe passionfruit, pine needles and resin. Taste contains an upfront hop bitterness, grapefruit acidity and citrusy sweetness. Pretty offensive bitterness, I can see what they’re trying to do here, but halfway through I was pretty over it. However, brilliant aroma and would be perfect to share!

Pours a clear copper with white head and nice lacing. aroma of grapefruits, caramel, resinous hops. Taste has the same grapefruits, light caramel, resinous hops, dry finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. I normaly like my DIPA around 7-8% but this one hides the alcool really well and isnt too sweet like some heavier ones. Well done!

Big and does what the label says. Seems to lose some of the hop hit with age given it being consumed in NZ. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is an amazing DIPA. The aroma is off the charts. Lots of citrus. The flavor is very well rounded. I love the centennial hops and the balance with the malts is perfect. Great beer.

Amber pour with white head. Aroma is big citrus and piney hops, malt in the background. Taste is the same - as mentioned below a big west coast style DIPA. I quite like it. I found there was just enough balance to cut the extremely bitter hops. Still couldn’t drink a lot, but quite tasty.

Big, piney, rich, and malty. Very well balanced hops and malt. However, it doesn’t come across as too sweet, bitter, or alcoholic. An impressive achievement.

Hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is big grapefruit hops. Flavor is big hops and a lot of grapefruit. A little oily in the finish. Overall, it delivers what’s promised. Big hops, not much balance. But, if you are craving a hop bomb, this one is quite good.

Chewy wintergreen citrus hop flavor with dry crisp finish and alcohol presence in the palate. Definitely west coast!
