Cask at GBBF 2011. Golden orange color. Pungent juicy hop aroma with mango, elderberry, grapefruit and orange. Firm smooth bitterness in the flavor with complex tropical fruit character. Dangerously drinkable, one of the best double IPAs.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Aroma of fresh hops, lychee, passion fruit, pears and orange blossom. Underneath is sweet-smelling clean malt and confectionery. Very aggressive flavours, masses of sharp hops with piney, herbal and resinous characters. A fair whack of clean, syrupy malt underneath. Reminiscent of hopped malt extract... The sharp bitterness overpowers everything afterwards, seeming to linger forever to the point of being unpleasant. Carbonation could be a bit higher. True to it’s name, but that’s not exactly a good thing.

(draught - just tapped Flying Saucer KC) amber with off white head and some lace. Aroma is resiny PINE, with hints of fruit. Flavor is the same, but enough malt back bone to take it.

12oz bottle. Bright golden body with some sticky white head. Big time hop aroma - tropical fruit, grapefruit and other citrus, and resin. Flavor is also a hop bomb but has a good amount of malty sweetness to balance things out. Tons of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit flavors.

Damn good. Pours orange with soapy head that lingers. Big flavorful hops. Really nice imperial. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle. Large off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, some grapefruit/grapefruit juice, some resin. Taste is moderately sweet, pine/grapefruit, some tannins, light orange/lemon. Resinous medium-full body.

I love me some hops but the name is appropriate. I shouldn’t expect more complexity from a palate wrecker. Still rated highly for the hops alone.

Bottle: Poured a bright orangey color ale with a solid large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma is dominated by citrus and pine noted originating from the C-hops. Taste is also dominated loads of citrus and pine notes with a bitter finish. Malt is present though hard to decipher through al the hops with some light residual sugar. Body is quite full with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. There is no denying that this a hop bomb though I prefer when they veered toward floral then bitterness.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a 2 finger, creamy, eggshell head Htat has great retention. Aroma is huge on citrus, some pine, cat box and a decent amont of melon and tropical fruit hops, toast, dusty tree fruit, caramel and bread crust. Flavor is full of bitter citrus, more pine than the aroma lets on, light tropical fruit, yeast rolls, toast, some grainy malt sweetness, caramel, light grass and a floral, tropical citrus and pine finish with a grapefruit and caramel fade. Palate is fairly heavy in body, creamy and slick on entry, dry-not quite astringen on the finish and somewhat lightly carbonated. Pretty awesome overall, the most attractive aroma I have encountered in an IIPA in a while, the taste let me down a bit comparitively, but it was still very tasty.

On tap at Mad Mex Cranberry. Cloudy amber color, fair head and some lacing desoite the alcohol content. Huge funky aromatic hops in aroma and flavor. enough malt to carry the body. Great beer.
