Bottle. Aged in the cellar for three years. Poured into a snifter, it is a copper brown colour with a slight ruby hue in the light. Creamy, off-white head. Aroma of date and black currant with a fair bit of leather, some biscuit and smoke. Full bodied. Grape and brown bread in the flavour with toasted nut, raisin, more smoke and peanut brittle. The finish is long with raisin and other dark fruit flavours.

Forced to have this today - best by end of 2011 for the 2008 vintage bottle #130,235, pours a five+ very light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy brown color with yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel and light alcohol nose and flavor is caramel with a sweet alcohol finish. Another good year. $8.59 for a 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, Vt.

Bottled. Pours russet with a pool of off-white head. A boozy aroma. A bit of sour fruit. Harsh alcohol in the mouth. Very fruity with cakey notes. Not got the warming mellow alcohol of other vintages and turns out too hot. Has chocolate notes amidst the bitterness. Not on a par with other years.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mar (3546) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 22, 2011
Nice crisp amber pour with a thin cream head. Nose is rich malts, toffee, dough, bread, and caramel. Excellent on the palate, huge malt bomb, dried fruits, toffee, bread, light chewiness.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Stephanos (617) - NORTHERN IRELAND - DEC 13, 2011
Bottle@ home 10/12/11. Need to try this one again as something wrong with bottle. Full of higher alcohols and esters. Pear skins on the nose, pear juice and solvent in the mouth...unpleasant.
