COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

0.5l - Oily appearance, so viscous. Nearly no carbonation. Tastes like a perfect cup of coffee with astringent booze finish. Nothing I would change.

Very dark brown opaque color with thin beige head. Aroma is extremely intense, with lots of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, wood and slightly hops. Taste is sweet, liquorice and smoky, with tones of coffee, chocolate, malts, slightly vanilla, toffee and caramel. Long aftertaste, sweet, dry and bitter. Masterpiece!

Draft. Pours nearly completely black. Has fantastic aromas of coffee flavors, creamy sweetness, deep roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Very complex and pleasant. Its almost perfect balanced.

Pours nearly completely black, with a small, fizzy head, disappearing soon, while leaving no lacing. Has fantastic, multi-layered aromas of coffee flavors, creamy sweetness, deep roasted malts and bitter chocolate, accompanied by a burning alcohol layer. Very complex and pleasant, with coffee being the most dominant ingredient. Toffeeish, earthy malts go along with distinct coffee flavors, which hit the palate in an incredible smooth, creamy fashion. Coffee then turns bitter, overcoming the milk chocolate note more and more. While the brew actually begins sweeter than expected, the sweetness doesn’t take over the whole palate, due to the rich coffee infusion. Also the coffee bitterness is very balanced, as a strong earth maltiness holds it at bay. The most surprising aspect is the incredible smoothness in this brew, making this the perfect pairing for e.g. a fruity chocolate cake, providing the creaminess for both, cake and brew. Alcohol is very well integrated in this complex tasting beer, adding to the bitter coffee sting, without being detectable on its own.

Bottle. I’m not usually an imperial drinker. This big beer with 10.9%ABV is a great coffee beer. The alcohol is not overpowering but a warming end.

This is simply one of the best stouts that I had. Great mouth feel, rich taste and strong coffee flavor without being bitter or dry. Alkohol is strong but well contained and it fits well. What a beer.

Cholernie przyjemne. Oleista konsystencja wyborna do tego stylu i do tego alkohol odczuwalny - ale jak na 11% to dobrze przykryty smakiem dominującym. Jedno z najlepszych i najstaranniej uwarzonych piw. Polecam.

Bottle. Black as night and with little carbonation. Aromas of instant coffee, tar, rubber, alcohol. The taste is almost overpowering; strong coffee dominates an intensely rich blend - or should I say roast? A treat!

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2014 Bottle shared with Vestergaard. Pours pitch thick black with tiny brown head. Aroma is fruity coffee berries. Citric espresso, dark chocolate and burnt figs. Taste is really balanced. Dark chocolate, vanilla. awesome mouthfeel and the smooth carbonation spreads all the flavor. Really creamy body, bit sugary. So much rich chocolate. Roasty coffee finish. Well composed.
