COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Odins Tipple was meant to be a strong beer, but we changed our minds...its still strong but we wont follow the mega strong trend. It should be possible to make great beer without the extreme alcohol potency. Odins Tipple is now approx 11% abv, it’s a dark almost black beer from lots and lots of chocolate malt. Its the malt that contributes the flavor...no added coffee or anything else, Its got a great body without being old engine oil and still very drinkable due to the wild yeast we use. This beer is made with a single strain of wild yeast and the recipe is dead simple.

Odin’s Tipple is decadent. It lacks complexity but that is a good thing. It is simply decadent. The aroma is less boozy than expected and has a very welcoming malt character. The finish is silky perfection.

Shared a bottle with friends. Poured a near pitch-black color, with a very rich dark brown colored head. Aroma was a bit smoke, with roasted malts. Flavor was smoky, with a touch of chocolate. Smooth notes. This brew was pretty enjoyable.

Pours rich and dark with no head. Nose is ripe dark fruit, roasted coffee, light smoke and chocolate. Taste is sweet but Gives way to bitter mid way through and continues through the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Very low carbonation with a great aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours black with no head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Tastes of a heavy sweetness, mild bitter. Full bodied, soft carbonation, oily creamy texture. Finishes mildly bitter but with some roasted oiliness. Quite pleasant.

Bottle pours. Black with brown thin head that goes away fast leaving just a tad ring of bubbles at top. Tastes smells of roasted chocolate licorice soy sauce. Semi sweet bit dry finish. Thick taste on tongue. Very nice beer I drank it at cellar temp prob been better a bit cooler.

This beer is a punch in the face with Norwegian flavour. Pours syrupy black and smells of rich coffee and bitter chocolate in an ash tray. Tastes like a perfect imperial stout should, coffee, chocolate, sweet, bitter and complex. Sensational!

Beautiful pitch black body with virtually no head. A few brown bubbles that vanishes more or less instantaneously, and that’s it. No lacing. Delicioius strong roasted aroma with dark caramel, dark chocolate, strong coffee, dark dried fruits, liquorice, alcohol and rope. The taste is moderate to heavy sweet and a long-lasting heavy to moderate bitter finish, this is definitely not an easy-to-drink beer for hot summer days! Do I also detect a faint salty taste? Stunning strong roasted flavours that fit the aroma and the looks: massive and dark. Coffee, chocolate, sweet dark dried fruits, berries like black currant. Also liquorice, rope and faint oak (without being to vanilla-like). It’s very vinous, but although the alcohol isn’t hidden away it’s still well integrated. Full bodied with a thick oily texture. When I poured the first glass of this viscous-loooking liquid I tried hard to make a head, and I made the softly carbonated brew far too flat. I was a bit more careful when pouring the second glass and the carbonation ended up less flat, but still a bit too soft for my liking. An extraordinary beer that would have been close to perfect if the carbonation level had been higher.

Bottle. This is superb - just an amazing job of creating an extremely high quality beer while retaining relatively simple elements. Pours jet black with a beautiful reddish brown head. Looks very thick and rich on the pour. Nose is a rich deep chocolate with a hint of dark fruit sweetness. Nice full and rich palate. Taste is rich milk chocolate with just a hint of roast. Alcohol is well hidden, although you get a hint of it on the nose and back end of the taste. Feels like an all-day beer and a monster at the same time. Tremendous.

Pitch black, brown head. Aroma is chocolate and figs. Flavor is chocolate, prunes, cocoa, sweet and strong. Alcohol! Pretty thick.
