4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber shared with my brother and nephew. Inky black, motor oil pour with a substantial, rocky brown head and excellent sticky lace. The huge espresso and dark chocolate aromas of the regular Boris are there, with the addition of an unmistakable and bourbon and vanilla character, but not much "oakiness" to speak of. Thick, chewy, oily mouthfeel with very gentle carbonation and a pleasing warmth. Very little bitterness, just enough to balance all the malty goodness that lingers on the palate. I suppose it’s all a matter of personal preference as to whether this is better than the standard Boris, but I sure liked it.

Poured from a 2013 bottle purchased at HFBrewery into a Hoppin Frog snifter thick deep brownest black with a thin dark tan head.
Aroma is whiskey coffee cocoa.
Flavor is incredible chocolate coffee with so faint liquorice with plenty of vanilla booze. Definitely a seriously rich and amazingly smooth. Extremely well balanced. Oh hell yeah!

One of my favorite beers all time. Poured from a 2013 bottle. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla. Appearance is like old engine oil with a one finger tan head that dissipates to a small ring. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, coffee, oak, and bourbon. Palate is very smooth almost silk like. A great brew from Ohio. Cheers!

Deep black body with fiery red to amber highlights temporarily supports a 1/3" very dark khaki head leaving a short array of dots arcing around one side of the snifter
Deep entwined dark notes of chocolate, black licorice, whiskey, tobacco, and cream on a coating silky smooth heavy body with a chest warming residual of fluent dark chocolate spirit barrel, light smoke, occasional flashes of graham cracker and pie crust, with warmth a subtle blueberry note also makes appearances, a sense of bananas foster with accents of peanut butter comes to mind, exceptionally silky and seamless

Bottle. Pours midnight black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, oak, coffee and vanilla. Flavor was moderately sweet and well balanced with silky chocolate, oak, vanilla, bourbon, light coffee and had a dry warming finish. Medium-full body, sticky oily texture, soft carbonation. A stellar imp stout

CBC Session 1. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Rich dark malts with a little fruity tangy sweetness on top. Touch of barrel induced vanilla. Woody bubblegum ester. Earthy dry coffee. Light dry finish. Nice, if a tad dry.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black color. Dark brown color, thin head. Absolutely massive bourbon nose with tons of dark chocolate, a hint of oatmeal, vanilla and dark fruit. Boozy, but enjoyable. The mouth is moderately heavy with lots of rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon and oak. Very creamy mouth feel. The mouth lacks the complexity of the nose, but still decent. Finishes with lots of lingering dark chocolate and roasted malts, but bourbon is a bit subdued. Warming finish. I like the nose more than the finished product, though still good.

Pours creamy and black with a brown head. The nose... Dude. You can take this to the bank. Ballanced bourbony aromas, chocolate, molasses, slight booze, english licorice toffee even some ground coffee beens. The mouthfeels is rich and with flavours that follow the nose perfectly. Big malty sweetness, boozy wet barrel, lots of brownie.. Its good. Develops nicely over time and hets even slicker.. The aftertaste is spot on too. No bitterness. Long. Go-to froggy!
