4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber shared with my brother and nephew. Inky black, motor oil pour with a substantial, rocky brown head and excellent sticky lace. The huge espresso and dark chocolate aromas of the regular Boris are there, with the addition of an unmistakable and bourbon and vanilla character, but not much "oakiness" to speak of. Thick, chewy, oily mouthfeel with very gentle carbonation and a pleasing warmth. Very little bitterness, just enough to balance all the malty goodness that lingers on the palate. I suppose it’s all a matter of personal preference as to whether this is better than the standard Boris, but I sure liked it.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
gold cap. shared at a tasting with 2 beer buddies. poured dark black with a mocca coloured head. great bourbon smell, vanilla, coconuts, very thick and smooth mouthfeel. reminds me a bit to the parabola (which as better ok) expensive beer, bought here in the netherlands. but it’s worth every penny!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from 22 oz. bottle after cellaring for 10 months.
Opaque, near black with a 1-finger dark brown head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of brandy, molasses, espresso, chocolate, roasted malt, charred wood, dates, prunes, wood duff and caramel.
Taste of molasses, brandy, brown sugar, anise, caramel, dates, prunes, chocolate, espresso and a touch of white pepper. The flavor is amazingly close to that of my girlfriend's peppernut Christmas cookie batter.
Medium/full body and medium carbonation with an interesting smooth yet slightly bubbly mouthfeel.
A superb, deliciously complex beer.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
About as good as an oatmeal stout can be. Lots of dark chocolate and licorice. Slick on the tongue.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A good solid stout. Great aroma with chocolate and oatmeal. Very dark...I normally love the darker colors, but this poured at the end like motor oil. Still, I’d recommend it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber poured into snifter. Smells of coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, and a little oak. Strong espresso taste with a sweeter chocolate balance finished off with a smooth oak taste. All the beauty of BORIS with an added oaky finish. Awesome brew.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pitch black colour, tiny mocha head. Aroma of whiskey, chocolate, vanilla, liquorice. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter. Whiskey flavour, dry wood finish. Medium body, very creamy texture, soft to flat carbonation. Very exciting RIS

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours absolute black, very small chocolate milk looking head that dies down to nothing, no lace. Nose is toasty, absolutely chocolate. Tastes smooth, silky chocolate, roasted malt, slightly bitter. Perfect stout.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pours pitch black, thick viscous pour with a small caramel color head. Nose is sooo nice, the barrel aging really stands out. I enjoyed the standard BORIS, but this one is definitely smoother.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(bottle) pours a pitch black colour with no head. aroma of chocolate icing, soy sauce, espresso and moist sacher cake, with notes of vanilla, christmas spices, kirschwasser, oak, fudge and earth. flavour is heavy oak and fudge, slightly tannic, with a hint of dry toasted malts, almost zero residual sweetness and lots of charred meat in the light-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft but assertive carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a bottle purchased at the brewery into a snifter bought there too. Pours a midnight black. Zero head and a thin layer of brown lacing. Aroma of liquor and coffee. Mouthfeel is sticky and greasy but oddly not heavy. Taste is roast and whiskey. Luckily the whiskey doesn't overpower everything. Alcohol is also very up front. A very good barrel aged stout and I'm not a huge fan of them.
