4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20Bomber shared with my brother and nephew. Inky black, motor oil pour with a substantial, rocky brown head and excellent sticky lace. The huge espresso and dark chocolate aromas of the regular Boris are there, with the addition of an unmistakable and bourbon and vanilla character, but not much "oakiness" to speak of. Thick, chewy, oily mouthfeel with very gentle carbonation and a pleasing warmth. Very little bitterness, just enough to balance all the malty goodness that lingers on the palate. I suppose it’s all a matter of personal preference as to whether this is better than the standard Boris, but I sure liked it.

Bottle. Black beer ith a small brown head. Malty, vanilla, caramell, figs, berries, licorice and chocolate aroma. Malty, chocolate, raisins, licorice, figs and caramell flavour.

Black really thick beer with very little head. Some roastiness, chocolaty sweetness, very soft and silky mouthfeel and nice bitter hops on the finish.

Possibly a 2009 bottle found in a dark corner at work. Pour is pitch black with a quickly dissipating mocha head. Lots of bourbon and vanilla on the nose, there’s some oak and rich dark chocolate, toasty malt and caramel, and some faint dark fruit notes. Some velvety chocolate notes up front on the taste, lots of bourbon and vanilla, oak, coffee, toasted malt, and molasses. Awesomely balanced, great barrel characteristics that don’t suffocate the rest of the beer.

22 ounce bottle. Thanks Tim! Pours black with a smallish tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, whiskey, and vanilla. Taste is coffee, whiskey, dark chocolate, malt, caramel, wood, and vanilla. Complex for sure. Amazingly good!

On tap @CBC13. Midnight black with tiny tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, syrup, wood notes and chocolate. Taste is like the aroma. Very, very sweet

On tap at CBC. Black colour with beige lacing. Wood aroma, slightly sweet and roasted. Roasted and sweet taste, acidic aftertaste.
