COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The sunniest beer in the Empyrean universe. Chaco Canyon’s light outset is punctuated with a crisp, piney, American-hop finish. The addition of honey lends this beer a very clean finish.

Bottle from Happy Harry’s in Fargo, ND. Bright orange pour with a smaller white head. Aroma of grain, some earth/grass, maybe a touch of pine. Slight bitterness on the finish. Just a touch of honey sweetness in here, but overall there isn’t a ton of character.

Very pale golden with a fluffy, white head that leaves spots of lace. Lightly grainy aroma with a mild hint of dusty hops. Light bodied but refreshing with a touch of lemon and earthy. Finishes clean with a bit of lingering bitterness

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle from his home state. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is fairly basic, with a lot of honey and wheat coming through. That also pretty much describes the flavor, which has some honey, wheat and some graininess. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thanks to Seymour for this one. Pours golden / orange with a small wispy head. The aroma has light, if any, roast, cream and hints of bread. Medium / light body with micro carbonation. The taste starts a bit fruity and watery with some mineral traits giving some astringency. The finish is quite phenolic. Fair.

Gold. Well balanced. Cereal. Slight yeastiness, but not cloudy. No head. Low IBU. Not much hop aroma either. OK beer. Thanks Ryan Arp.

Thanks, Ryan. Apparently I just love Empyrean beers; I think this is another one receiving unfairly low ratings. Tasted from cool 12oz stubby bottle with mysterious native artwork, poured into a nucleated tulip glass. It poured a cloudy light orange color with a sudsy, lasting off-white head and some Belgian lace, definitely benefiting from the lack of filtering and pasteurization. Smelled of mild malt, husky grain, honey, live yeast, faint earthy and woody hops. Nice bready flavor, zesty, chalky, white crackers, mellow earthiness. Very nice, well-balanced palate: mild citric acidity but mainly smooth and satisfying with a subtly fruity ale aftertaste which eventually finished dry. Interesting and unique. If I had to compare it to something, I’d say it’s a breadier, citrusier California Common, or a less wheat-y Choc Beer. But as you can see, both styles are obscure American originals. Delicious.
