Truly a one-of-a-kind. We balance coffee-like, dark roasted malts with the sweet, seductive flavor of vanilla beans. The result? A deliciously unique flavor.

This is a good looking beer. Dark black. Smells of vanilla and chocolate. Very thin head. Tastes very vanilla’y, which is good because I like vanilla. Not bitter...very roasty. Thanks Ryan Arp!

Thanks, Ryan, for my first Nebraska rating! Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Cool design: I like these short and stout pry-top bottles, mysterious naming and graphic design, cool box, too. The bottles are unfiltered and unpasteurized, making them as close to brew-pub "real ale" as possible. The little things do make a difference. Poured an opaque dark reddish-brown color with a small tan head, short-lived with lace. Aromas of bread, toast, caramel, roasted grains, faint chocolate, strong coffee, raisins, English-style flowery and earthy hops, some fruity ale yeast esters. Flavor was tart and toasty, malty-sweet but nicely balanced with tangy hops and grain bitterness. Fresh-baked brown bread with dark fruit spread. Subdued smokiness, sourness, very light vanilla and nutty hardwood tannins suggestive of bourbon barrel aging (though I don’t think it was.) Light-medium body with a slick, easy-drinking mouthfeel, lingering fruity and roasty mouthfeel. A very fine, true-to-style porter.

Date: April 2, 2012 Mode: Bottle Source: Dublin Bay Description: Dark brown pour with large amount of head and some lacing. Aroma and taste was roasted malt with some vanilla. Medium bodied, smooth, but had a funky bitter finish that took away from a rather average porter.

Dark brown pour with moderate foamy tan head. Light roast malt aroma with some sweet caramel and vanilla notes. Taste is lightly roasted malt and caramel. Pretty light in both taste and mouthfeel, not much there. Meh...

12oz bottle-pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is dark malt-molasses/roasty. Taste is dark malt-molasses/roasty/ashy, vanilla, 2nd earthy hops. Not my taste but nicely done.

Draft. Aroma of smooth, slightly boozy milk chocolate. Taste is similar. Not very complex.

Thanks to Adam from Nebraska. Pours very dark with a tan head about three fingers. Smells of vanilla. Super smooth, creamy, a little bit of stale bitter at the back end. This is by no means a "good" porter, but I’m glad I got to try it. Rich without being strong. Not anything to seek out, but a great beer, none the less.

12oz bottle poured into an English Pint at 40°. Color is a deep dark brown with good carbonation and a thin tan head. Aroma is slightly sweet with a roasted malt and vanilla scent. It has a lighter medium body that gives crisp mouth feel. Flavor of mild roasted coffee and a mellow vanilla that lets a faint sweetness come out. In the after taste the vanilla lingers for just a bit. Overall its a good brew, a nice light easy drinking porter.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Very dark pour with a cream colored head that left great lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, slight coffee, and a touch of vanilla sweetness. Palate is a bit thin, hops and carbonation are a bit low, so it hits the tongue a little flat. Taste is spot-on with the aroma, smooth and pleasant, although a touch flat. This is good stuff, but just a close call away from being awesome.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with silky tan head. The aroma is fairly rich in the cocoa and vanilla department, with some slight raisin, ash, and earth notes. The flavor is straightforward vanilla, with a bit of an ash and roast tone to it. There is a faint earthy and resinous hop tone to keep that sweetness in check (though it’s still on the sweet side overall). Pretty good.
