Very nice warm golden beer with good fuffy head and and fine carbonation. Clear aroma’s of malts and some fruityness, well counterd by a subtile hoppy touch. Medium mouthfeel with a minty accent in the taste. Nice clear taste with a good roundness and a fine integration of hops and citrus.

This Belgian Blond has a malty sweet aroma and pours a light golden complexion with a heavy froofy head that disapears quickly. It has a lighter flavor than you would expect from the aroma but than has a lingering light bitter taste on the palate.

BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2012
December 2008: Brown 33cl bottle, plenty of life left (May 2010), drank on a cold but dry December afternoon in Shropshire, England. Poured into one of my Duvel glasses. Poured as a Duvel, trying to get a large head. The head did arrive, but it was made of large bubbles and didn’t rise to the glass rim. It fell to less than half an inch as I studied and sniffed for aroma. Good golden yellow colour, clear and clean, a true straw blonde. The head almost white, but not fully, a light cream colour maybe. Yeast and hops hit the nose as well as caramel, mixed fruit too. Fairly dry in the mouth, but with a kick, the 6.5% is very evident at the front and in the aftertaste. Harsher than a Duvel, more acidic and a certain ungraciousness about it. A headache producing sort of beer? The more I had, the less I enjoyed it. I had to eat some dry biscuits to help me finish the tasting, so something was wrong (for me anyway).

erickok (1074) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2012
Heavy fizzing light orange body, pretty much clear. Rocky white head revealing an especially fruity Belgian aroma with orange peel, red apple, significant yeasty character and some clove-spicy hops. Pretty nice, not special. Balanced light body with medium bitter, crisp middle. Ending, strangely, is quite sweet. Like the carbonation in here but the ending ruins this beer. Rather have a St Feuillien, Brigant or Affligem blond. (33cl bottle, cheap)
