Bottle. Copper/orange color, white head. Yeasty. spicy, fruity aroma, orange notes. Yeasty, spicy flavor, herbal notes. Im sorry, but I really find most belgian beers to be the same at the moment. Maybe its me and not the beers, but I reallt cant appreciate belgian beers the way I used to at the moment.

(33 cl bottle from Systembolaget) Clear dark copper color, big white head. Yeasty spicy scent, also sweet, spicy, citrus and fruity. Lots of phenoles, also feels bery "Belgian" in the smell. Metallic, harsch, copper, malty dry taste. Some phenoles and a bit yeasty as well. Taste is a lot less complex compared to the scent, even quite boring. Sweet alcohol aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. A bit pepper taste just when swallowing and looking for the bitter subjects.

Marsiblursi (2989) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 15, 2007
(Bottle) Pours copper-ish amber. Fruity and yeasty aroma with tones of citrus – mostly lime, oranges and orange peel but also a touch of pears and green apples, pepper and a subtle herb mix. Malty undertones with hints of caramel and maybe some buttery cookies if you dig deeper. Also some floral notes in the background. Fruity and yeasty flavour with tones of oranges, apricots, herbs and a light floral sting. Light citric bitterness with a dry finish. Well carbonated and round mouthfeel. Light to medium sweet with a too sugary ending. Yeast and a light fruitiness lingers a bit. Medium bodied. Drinkable but not that complex.

ekstedt (5317) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 7, 2007
Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear ruby colour with a medium creamy head. Flat and anonymous aroma with some light yeasty and spicy notes. Quite thin and watery for a strong ale, with spritzy carbonation. Good blance though, but the overall impression is quite low.

Bottle. High and long lasting creamy off-white head. Hazy amber body. Sweet and fruity barley malt aroma plus some indications of bisquites. Sweet caramel flavor without much hops bitteress. Alcohol well hidden by the sweetness. Low carbonation and a short aftertaste.

330 cl. bottle brought to me from Belgium by my daughter. Huge, loosely structured pinkish tan head over a clear coppery amber pour. Head collapsed in short order, leaving little lace. Sweet fruity aroma with hints of orange, caramel, figs, and prunes. This has a really bubbly, over carbonated character, which detracts from the nice aromas and flavors. Basically dominated by sweet malt flavors, but there is a tempering bitterness that arrives just in time to bring things under control. Were it not for the carbonation, this would be much better.
