Was looking forward to taste this cuvee rouge, but quite disappointed.. The colour is real nice, pink (rosé as wine) a slight pink colour in the foam. But the taste is quite banal.. Lot of cereals in there, quite sweet, nothing really special for me going on here..

I think there is some confusion about this one: the label does not mention anything about it being a fruit beer, only the "Rouge" in the name seems to suggest that. And there was no real syrupy cherry ’fruitness’, at least not in an explicit way, in the sample I tasted yesterday... In fact, I have a strong suspicion this is jus the same beer as their Ename 974, or a slightly altered version of it. Anyway, this beer showed a sticky, thinnish but stable, cream white head and a bright, pure amber colour; an aroma of indeed some sweet fruitiness so a certain degree (apple, peach, mango), as well as nutty and caramelly malts, cooked rhubarb, mint, butterscotch, orange peel, flowers; and a soft, very fruity taste with sharpish carbonation, on a mellow caramelly and lightly nutty malt base, somewhat thinnish body and mild herbal hoppiness in the finish without real bitterness. A bit unusual but I could enjoy it.

Ik drink graag fruitbieren, maar dit is geen goeie. Teveel kasteelbier rouge achterna willen gaan wat niet gelukt is (zwaarder fruitbier)

330ml bottle. Dark amber color. Medium size, white head, stays. Fruity, caramel, sweet, touch of cherries in aroma. Metallic, caramel, faint cherry stones in taste. High carbonation. Sweet and sticky body. Too fizzy.

330ml bottle (BeerGallery Luxury, Krakow)
Rough blegian ale aroma. Some perfumet aspects. Rough belgian grainy taste. Papery palate. Not so nice. Where’s the fruit? We had the bottle in our hands, it wasn’t us being served the wrong stuff. Mislabelled?
