Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, thanks buddy] Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy dark amber colour. Aroma of caramel, nutty, fruit, yeast, grain. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet flavour. Nutty sweet and caramelized lingering finish.

Lovely appearance, dark brown. lasting, creamy head. Bit weak smell and taste; sweet, malty and fruity. Initial moderately malty taste is good. Dry palate.

33cl bottle. Amber/copperish color with a beige head. Aroma is of lively yeast/barnyard, hoppy and sugary (butterscotch) malts. Taste is malty, dark fruits (cherry/prunes) with candi sugar. Reminded me of a better version of the ,any German Scharzbier.

Dark brown with a large off white head. Delightful leathery, spicy, yeasty, wet dog aroma. Taste is a bit flat in comparison. A little malty sweetness and some alcohol, but mainly a restrained dryness with a bit too much fizz.

marcus (3763) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 13, 2011
1996 (est) bottle shared by haggerty. Pours dark brown with a thin set of beige bubbles on top and a dark fruit aroma. There is a smooth vanilla and treacle flavor with a slightly carbonated chocolate finish. Surprisingly held up very well over the years, with a mature mellow feel. Much better than the fresh ones.

Dak brown beer with a dense alcohol aroma and a wine like flavour. Overall a plain Belgian beer.
