Bottle at home in London. Pours red brown with a moderate, light tan head. Some fruits in the nose, perhaps berries, with light caramel. Medium sweet, plenty more berries, some mild herbal hops, lightly toasted sugars. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet but dry to finish, some dried fruits, berries, mild sweet bread. Alright.

Bottle. A beige bubbely head on a clear reddish brown colored body. Light sweet caramellish malts to the nose. Fairly sweet malty taste with notes of mild coffee and cocoa. Also some crispness and metallic tones underneath. Light to medium body. Faint bitterness in the finish.

330 ml bottle, bought at Vinens Verden, Odense, Denmark. Deep red-brown colour, large light tan head. Surprisingly moderate malty aroma, notes of caramel and oak. Improves as the beer warms up, some vinous qualities. Flavour is malty with some caramel and brown bread notes, moderate hops. Easy drinking, refreshing for its strength. Okay.

Bottle from Asao. Dark brown with orange and a huge head. Aroma of fruit: cherry, raisin, plus spices and caramel. Sweet caramel and fruit flavor, some spices, not all that rich, though, and a bit thin. Ok.

Smells nice, a little raisins, looks good. A nice simple dubbel, not real heavy or sweet. Good, but not great.

Dark brown body with medium head. Nose and taste of malts. Quite spicy too. Nicely balanced, sweetish with solid bitter in the finish.

Reddish brown with creamy tan head. Vague aroma of chocolate, yeast and prunes. Dry yeasty flavour with a nice fruity sweetness from banana, prunes and pear. Hints of dark toasted bread in the finish.

Deep amber coloured body with a touch of a ruby hue on the bottom and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of malt, brown sugar and a very mild yeast smell. Medium-bodied; Very metallic and over aerated malt and alcohol flavour with some light sweetness, a touch of yeast and a bit more of the metallic tastes - not too pleasant. Overall, not such a great beer, but not horrible either. Not too great for the style, but some light good tastes remain. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from La Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2011 for €2.25 sampled in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 02-January-2011.
