330ml bottle. Shared Tranquility’s - thanks!
Dark red, think light head. Aroma is very perfumed, a bit shampooey, and also sweet malt. Taste similar, very sweet, extremely perfumey - as Marcus says, it’s like perfumed make-up or lipstick. Quite malty, and a bit fizzy. But I just can’t get over the over-dominant perfume taste. Is it made with 200 whores’ handkerchiefs?

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours clear deep orange with a centimeter thick, foamy, light brown head. Caramel, spices and yeast on the nose.Sweet carmel flavor with a light alcoholic warmth and heavy carbonation. Acidity becomes more clear after a few mouths. Medium body. Grows in the mouth.

Bottled. Amber with large white head. Sweetly acidic beer with a distinct tinny /metallic note. Some deep roasted flavours with a coffee and toffee hint but mostly a disapointing beer.

A lighter dubbel and I do not like it. There’s something off with the texture of this beer.

RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, The Fringe, Manchester. Bottle. Dark brown colour, white head. Aroma was almost absent, just a hint of dark malts and some sugar. Flavour is very metallic, malty, brown sugar, dull, thin. Light bitter finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Geuzelambix (229) - København, DENMARK - MAR 5, 2010
I was disappointed by this one. I had it on draft and maybe some weird stuff from the machine ruined the beer - I don’t know. A typical dark dubbel with burned and sweet notes, but also rather metallic and flat in the taste. Loads of better options in this genre.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 henrikb (1258) - Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 27, 2006
Brown body, light brown head, fast away; Small very simple nose, with very little character, simple brown sugar and malt; Full body, sharp but full sparkle, simple sharp character; Metallic finish, medium length, a bit sour, not really pleasant.
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Abio (1136) - Waasland, BELGIUM - APR 13, 2010
Bottle at home. Pours out brown-redish. Nice colour and a good big head. Some sour-fruity aroma, same with the taste, not my beer at all. Drinkeable, that’s it..
