Dark mahogany color, pleasant nut creamy head of long resistance, round and impenetrable aspect. Smooth nose of roast malt, burned resin and cortex, coffèe. Soft and tender body, desided roast malt body with notes of chocolate and roast caramel. Medium bitter final of long resistance.

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, fruity, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121214]

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a dark brown colour with a fair tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate milk and yeast. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and a creamy mouth-feel. OK.

2nd August 2011 GBBF. Bottle split with Scopey and Leighton. Opaque black beer, tiny tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Rich dark malt with mild roast. A sprinkle of minerals. Subtle fruit in the undertone. Tiny bit of lactose sweetness. Good flavour for it’s low abv.

Bottle at GBBF 2011 with Ken and Leighton. It pours almost black, with a massive tan head. The nose is toasted sesame seed, filter coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. The taste is caramel, milk chocolate, liquorice, coconut, brown sugar and toasted sesame seed, with a long milk chocolate finish. Medium body, average carbonation and good balance. A flavoursome and tasty milk stout.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, Day 1, shared with Ken and Paul. Pours black-brown with a rich, beige head. Sharp mocha nose. Some lactic sugar in the flavor, mocha, mild coffee, a bit of brown sugar, light roast. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lactic sweet finish, some more mocha, mild but pleasant roasted malts. Nice beer. Well done.
