Bronze to pale auburn colour, small thin tanned head faded fast, clear. Aroma was initially weak, I detected some caramel and brown sugar as it warmed. Tasted caramel, brown sugar and molasses, finish was slightly peppery. Medium body, smooth, slight bite from the carbonation. Overall not the worst, a fairly dark Maerzen which came from a screw top bottle which is probably the most memorable thing about it.

Test vom 4.11.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,12,11,10,11 - 11,05

Nice flavor of roast grains, with hints of toffee, caramel and butterscotch. Sweetish with very mellow bitterness, nice amber color, but aroma was faint. Very pleased with this brew. Tasty!

Bottle, xmas 2009 chez mowbeer, what a host! Amber with a minimal head; rusty tinny aroma with hints of caramel, red currant and some vanilla. Unexciting

0.5l bottle from Marktkauf, pours amber with the fizz rapidly settling out to a thin lacy white head, with light notes of almost and melon on the nose. Palate is initially thin, with caramel and some hops coming through in the mid body, then a little golden fruit and grass, before a dry-bitter yet still faintly caramel finish.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2012 Clear golden with a short white head. Fruity grainy aroma, a little toffee with hints of nuts. Taste is sweet and malty with notes of figs and nuts, light bitterness, short dry and slightly metallic finish. Smooth mouthfeel, rather light body. Easy to drink, ok, but Could do with a little more temper. 6 3 6 3 12

The head is ok, the body yellow-brown. It smells darkmalty, a bit CO², grassy and intensive hoppy. The taste is sweet, malty, then a bit butter and coffee-roasty, also unbalanced hoppy. Ok and interesting! 12/11/12/11/13/11
