Bottle brown, 500 ml, 11.8 P, non-pastreurized, non-filtered.
Appearance: Pours muddy, shiny orangy golden, very similar to Bavarian Weizen, very lively carbonation, a lot of yeasts clouds floating in the body texture, head is snowy white, frothy, initially medium, slowly decreasing to small, leaving nicea lacing and yeast sediment at the glass bottom.
Aroma: Sour, accidic, sharp hoppy, grapefruit, lemon, nice yeast accents at front, healtyh and refreshing hoppy bitterness with a chalky, cardboardy, positive and inviting, barley background, additionally spicy in hoppy profile. All the typical stuff characteristic of Engel Engele Premium Pils but here yet enriched by additional yeasty accents.
Flavour: Very sharp hoppyness, tangy, highly astringent, strongly bitter, grapefruit. lemon, grapefruit seeds and other citruses, spices, flour, chalk, cardboard, due to the unfiltered yeast alcohol is well balanced and not felt as much as in the filtered version. Finsh duration is long and pleasant with lingering noble hoppy nose.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is highly astringent, sharply bitter, rich in noble type Classic German Pilsener hops in nose, very pleasant and impressive.

Soft beer, with nice bready malt, spicy hop balance (but a little milquetoast in the process - just not enough flavor going on). Nicely conditioned, as seems to be the case with Engel beers. Recommended by a very nice waitress at Katedra, a must beer bar in Krakow. Nicer in aroma than flavor, the exact opposite of the much better Engel Premium Herbfrisces Pils.
