4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma reminiscent of a weissbock. Spritzy like a good Saison. Taste has a honeyed sweetness, with a dry, spicy finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber, orange glance, clear, off-white head. yeast, bit unfresh, metallic touch in the nose. Taste gives yeast, honey. sweet body, but also something ’sour’ in the finish, wattery. not that well balanced, but for sure a better try than their first beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Transparent warm red brown beer with a massive creamy head. No carbonation.
Smell is surprisingly sharp and citric, with salt and breadiness and very subtle caramel. Bit like peels, reminds me of a saison.
Taste is watery bitter, fizzy and refreshing and quite light. A resin sprucy finish which leaves a tartness in the mouth. Subtle meatiness and a creamy feel.
Interesting beer, definitely not interested in conforming!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Panama City Beach, Fl - Chan’s Wine World - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark copper, slight orangeish tint to it, tight eggshell white head. Aroma has a hint of molasses, some date like fruitiness. Flavor is mellow with some date-like fruitiness, some baked bread, a bit of toffee. thick enough mouthfeel. Went well with the cheese and cold cut plate I had for dinner.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, BBE 08/05/15. Pours an orange amber with a decent-sized, yellowish brown head. Aroma is plum, dark fruit, peach, some yeast, a bit of marzipan and honey. Taste is a lot of the Belgian fruits: Peach and apricot as well as their darker, more dried up cousins. A little bit of honey and heather, dries up and turns more flowery on the finish. Very good, easily quaffable. Fairly gentle carbonation, medium in the mouth.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl. bottle poured in to a trappist glass. Lovely, hazy amber-orange colour with a dense, white head. Sweet aroma with spices, oranges, fruits and yeasts. A vague hint of alcohol and malts. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes bitter with herbal hops, fruits and spices. Yes, it’s a Trappist. It’s good however, the Belgians still rule this realm.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper with a small, short lived head. The aroma is sweet, slightly yeasty, and has a bit of bread and ethanol. The flavor is pretty much the same. Medium body, sweet finish, low carbonation for the style. A bit disjointed and not worthy of the Trappist logo or the price point.

Quintessential Belgian. Nothing overtly superb here but everything is done just right. Solid B.
