Aroma reminiscent of a weissbock. Spritzy like a good Saison. Taste has a honeyed sweetness, with a dry, spicy finish.

Hazy orange colour, with a small head that fades soon, leaving a non compact lace. Smell of dark fruits, honey, and lemon. Medium body, creamy and sticky palate. Good carbonation. Taste of dark fruits, hoeny, lemon is more perceptible. Good, but not near the best trappist beers.

turbothy (1120) - Bonn, GERMANY - DEC 14, 2014
Pours orangey golden with a big head that quickly collapses to a more managable finger-wide sagging foam crown. Undefined bittersweet aroma, while the flavour is more sweet from the honey with nice hops. However, the intense carbonation makes it hard to enjoy the beer.

An Austrian Trappist, eh? Somehow it feels it’s always been there. Really nice, with a wonderful aroma of sweet dark berries, more specifically jaboticaba jam. The flavour is yeasty, malty, with berries and a nice bitter finish. Copper coloured with a creamy off-white head. Excellent velvety palate, super easy to drink.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Cloudy orange-brown coloured with spicy red fruit and burnt currant flavours, pineapple and zesty lemon and vanilla on the finish. Excellent!

Amberkleurig bier met beige schuimkraag. Gebrande mout, hop en specerijen in de neus. Karamel in de mond met scherpe bitterheid. Drooghoppige afdronk met bitterige nasmaak.

1/4 liter Tulip glass draft at Redlight Redlight in Orlando, Florida. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a well formed one inch off white head. The aroma is slight fruit sweet, cracker malt and a bunch of herbal yeast. The taste is heavy on the spiced fruit sweet yeast elements, along with spice (potpourri) that lingers. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, mouth coating, yeast in the finish. This didn’t totally work for me, way too heavy on the yeast character for my personal taste.

Trappiste autrichienne d’Engelhartszell authentic product.
