Poured from bottle 8/2/15. Tan head. Dark Amber. Not the typical Belgian beer flavours I was expecting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Cloudy orange-brown with large head. Sweet prune, caramel malt, and moderately bitter herbal alcohol flavor. Nice body.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Murky russet coloured beer lasting cream colour head. Estery aroma. Some peach some sweetness. Itís a little bit too estery. Some sweetness develops. Itís just that there are so many better Belgian ales out there. Too estery, too much vegetal character.

.33l pour from room-temperature bottle into an Engelszell glass while sitting on the banks of the Danube after visiting the abbey. Deep orange to amber, hazy, nice carbonation, fizzy quickly-dissipating head. Nose is fruity, estery, a little sour, a little malt. Body is thin and crisp, sharp and well carbonated. Taste is fruity, orange, a little malty breadiness, dry, maybe a bit raisin, tangerine, white grape, maybe a hint of cherry, slightly minty. Wonderfully flavorful. Long finish with a some herby notes.

0,33 l bottle from P&M Getršnke, bottled on 26/8/2014 (almost a year old). Clear, medium amber with a huge, very fine pored and creamy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey, chestnut and a bit of cane sugar. Sweetish-malty taste of cane sugar, caramel, honey and chestnut, followed by a long, medium bitter, slightly peppery, alcoholic and warming finish. Medium body, creamy and effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid Belgian Ale with an impressive hoppy punch but at the same time lacking excitement in aroma and taste. Despite its nice mouthfeel, it isnít that quaffable due to the notable alcohol in the finish. Clearly the worst of the three Austrian trappists for me.

Bottle pour at GJBF Osaka 2015. Superb rich malty nose, fruit, berries, small yeast bite. Big fruity initial, sweet candi sugar (but itís honey), dark fruit, with some sour tang, and a quick change to severe bitterness in finish. Fresh and flavorful. Wow!

Bottle at Koht in Tallinn (Ä 8). BB 24.04.16. Dark, slightly brownish amber colour with lots of floaties. Headís very persistent. Quirky on the nose - wouldnít have guessed it to be honey, but indeed itís got a certain sweet flowery aroma that Iíd associate with some types of honey. Itís also kind of pungent, kind of farmhouse. Very fckn difficult to describe... Tastes very sweet with some sour notes and faint bitterness. Fruity. Faint spiciness. The honeyís definitely there. Medium body, near crisp carbonation. Dryish on the palate. Some alcohol detectable. Iím not so sure about this one. Certainly interesting, thatís for sure.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated hazy brown orange colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mediumly tingly finish with a lingering vinous aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of bitter old ale mildly vinous and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
