3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Na bijna een jaar naar aanschaf (voor 5euro!!) gedronken. Een lekkere donkere trappist, maar kan me helaas niet overtuigen.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium brown pour with a thick tan head. Lots of Belgian yeast, dark honeyed notes, fruitcake, dates and figs. I kept hoping for more as I sipped this. Certainly got better as it opened but never really did I find it great.

3.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: deep muddy brown with a thick and creamy but quickly-vanishing head, which left some shimmery lace curtains. Aroma: one of the best smelling beers ever, there’s tons going on, with more coming out in every sniff as it warmed--raisins, plums, molasses, caramel, brown and candi sugars, toffee, leather, pipe tobacco (cherry), chocolate, toast, booze. Taste: very sweet at first, with dark fruits in heavy syrup, molasses, chocolate, and brown sugar; then the booze takes over, bringing some rough edges including a rather unpleasant medicinal note. Finish: slightly bitter, boozy, with lingering minerality and cough syrup flavors. Notes: Really wanted to love this, and based on the nose already I was deep into like. However, the flavors and palate were a little unbalanced, and the medicinal/mineral note was quite off-putting. I like a smoother abt, and this one was definitely rough around the edges. Glad to try it, though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2013 Bottle.
Ar: malty, but actually quite roasty as well, jam, coffee, licorice, ash, butterscotch, alcohol, dried fruits,
Ap: ruby colour, medium beige head, lacing.
F: heavy sweetness, light bitterness, big sourness, big saltiness, roasty, malty and full of alcohol.
P: full bodied, soft carbonation, warming and salty finish.
T: unlike any other quad I’ve had.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Bottle. Dark with white foam, which disappears pretty quick. Great aroma, caramel but quite intense. Bitter and sweet flavours, quite nice balance but not as refined as the traditional trappisten beer. Palate is nice and if it is definitely a beer you could have a few of. --- Rated by Victor

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from ABS. spicy nose, chocolate and caramel, raisin and other dried fruits, green apple. Dark brown with orange tints and a high, pillow, fine head. Sweet, malty, a bit rough, green apples, orange, raisin, caramel, chocolate, a bit smoky as well. Quite tangy. Too much green apple, not really coming together, rather thin body as well. Very green, and kind of lame.
