3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home.
Hazy brown with an off-white head, some lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel, roasted, notes of smoke, honey). Flavor medium sweet, then sourish, ending bitter, phenolic. Medium body, alcohol well hidden. Not perfect!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass.
App.: Very deep mahogany with a full copper-tan foam.
Aroma: Rich maltiness...dark dried fruits, dark bread crust, a bit of treacle, sweet with a light underlying tang that might be infection, cherries and other “fresher” fruitiness, brown sugar, another hit of infected tang/nastiness.
Palate: Medium+ body, full carbonation.
Flav.: Richly malty and boozy, lightly infected with some tang and a little burnt nut nastiness, cherries, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, generally quite lovely; sweet with low bitterness and a richly malty finish with lots of prunes and other dark dried fruits, a bit of booze and a hint of tang.
Like the other bottle I had, there is something “alive” in this beer that isn’t entirely good. Overall, a nice beer. “Dark Tripel”....interesting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is yeast, dark fruit, wood. Similar flavors to nose, candy sugar, light booze finish, good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Foam: small creamy beige, not long lasting, no lingering.
Colour: hazy little opaque dark brown.
Aroma: caramel malts, dried sweet fruits, banana, a hints of vanilla, mocha and yeast.
Taste: roasted malt, caramel, quite bitter on palate, milk chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, bread, medium to low carbonation, medium body, interesting and good Trappist beer from Austria worth to taste, but not as good as for example Orval or St. Bernardus Abt 12 and it costs two times more, at least here in Belgium.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Corpo pieno, poco carbonata.
Retrolfatto di toffee.
In ogni caso bella bevuta.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, BBD 13.1.2017, alc. 10,5% ABV. Aroma lots of honey, toffeeish caramel, dried fruits. Also prominent alcohol. Dark brown colour, some sediment, but it is possible to pour it clean if you want. Beige head, quite stable. After tasting there is no doubt left - this is the first commercially available braggot that I have been able to taste :) Thin body which comes from heavy use of honey that ferments completely. Also lots of honey flavour, bearing strong familiarity with my own braggot that I made from forest honey. However in this beer there is a slightly too alcoholic warming finish. Not exactly unpleasant, rather underlining that this beer is a sipper. Dry fruits and also caramel in flavour, but this one is mostly about the honey. Good braggot.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, many thanks to Werckmeister.
