Bottle at home. Hazy brown with an off-white head, some lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel, roasted, notes of smoke, honey). Flavor medium sweet, then sourish, ending bitter, phenolic. Medium body, alcohol well hidden. Not perfect!

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is hazy and dark brown with a nice and large cream colored head, also with a lot of bubbles. In the aroma clear tones of honey, caramel, pineapple and a little hidden hops in the background. The taste is light sweet in the beginning with clear tones of caramel and pineapple to change in a light bitterness with tones of dark chocolate, coffee and some spices. The finish is complex and bittersweet and has some light tones of coffee. Although this is a wonderfull quadrupel, it also reminds me a little of a stout. Really nicely done.

Bottle from York Beer & Wine. Very dark brown in colour with ruby red highlights. It has a very rich red fruity flavour, spicy, warming currants and bonfire toffee followed by a slight tart red fruity finish. Excellent!

Metalchopz (2364) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours a cloudy amber-purple colour with a big beige head that stays long, as very carbonated. Lacing is thick and creamy. Plum and raisin aromas with fruity yeast, roasted malts, sugars, notes of caramel. Smooth mouthfeel with just slight warming. The taste is a little milder, but still pretty complex. Roasted malts, prunes, toffee, anise and grass. A pretty nice Quad for those who like dark fruits, caramel sweetness and grassy finish.

blackisle (797) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - NOV 14, 2014
Bottle 33cl. Nearly opaque deep dark brown, reddish hue, small foamy tan head, disappears quickly; rich aroma of sweet malts, ripe dark fruits, maple syrup, caramel, brown sugar, licorice notes; taste moderate to heavy sweet and mild bitter, roasted malts, sugar, laurel, alcohol; full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation; finish sweetbitter, roasted malts, spicy notes. Very sweet, decent beer but definitely lacks finesse.

Bicky (13) - Waregem, BELGIUM - NOV 13, 2014

malrubius (1813) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Bottle from Table and Vine. Dark brown with lasting tan head an lace. Rich earthy aroma of caramel chocolate and smoke. Burnt caramel and raisiny sweetness with coffee and smoke and mild earthy woody tobacco bitterness and pretty clean finish. Full soft body. On par with what a great trappist quad should be. Excellent.

PERFETTA!!!
