Bottle picked up at the COOP tonight for about $6... Poured into my HotD goblet and received a short lasting tan head with little to no lacing... the brew is hazy dark walnut... Looked like quite a bit of yeast/sediment got into the glass during the pour before I noticed. Nose shows earthy dark maltiness with little in the way of traditional esters or phenols.. mainly just dark malt with a subtle kiss of malt sweetness... does not smell "malty" though if that makes sense. Flavor is dominated by again sorta dry dark malt essence... a bit of sweetness reminds me of a musky mead... dry dusty, sorta nutty dark malt on the finish. Okay carbonation and body.. but both seem a little muddy. Better than average certainly, but I guess I was hoping for more.

0,33 l bottle from drinks-of-the-world.de, bottled on 20/2/2014. Very hazy, dark red with a medium large (gushing), creamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Very fruity aroma of black and redcurrant, elderberry, raisins, plums and candy sugar. Some fusel as well. Very strong, sweetish taste of black and redcurrant, elderberry and raisins, accompanied by hints of plums and candy sugar. Medium long, slightly bitter but quite peppery, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily and slightly creamy texture, highly carbonated. Very intense beer and definitely not that quaffable, more of a sipper. However, I really like it because of the fruitiness and despite its alcoholic character. Should be worth aging.

Well that was a surprise. Appearance is standard as all those strong beers. Aroma is nice, I think figues or some dried fruit. Surprise comes with a first sip. It is very strong, bitter, the after taste is like burned caramel. Not bad but not what I was expecting. I expected some refinement and this is strong straight forward beer. Gosh!

Molto dolce e alcolica, promossa.

01-23-2015 - I don’t know what happened: did I get a bad bottle or did I have a bad day? I didn’t like this at all.

Didn’t take proper tasting notes. Bottle. Red fruit, dark fruit, boozy, odd, port, toffee, dust, sweet, light sour, creamy, sticky. Very complex, but a bit overwhelming.

4.11.2014. Sweet caramel malty aroma. Taste has wood, caramel sweetness, some spices. Quite nice but a bit too sweet.

Cervesa on destaquen els tocs a caramel i a fruita vermella madura. cerveza dónde destacan los toques a caramelo y a fruta roja madura.
