Had this on tap at the Lions Pride, very unique Trappist ale. A lot more hops than any I had before, and this one had a roast note to it. I even got a coffee note in the flavor. I didn’t get the typical aggressive dark fruit note in this brew. I like it

What a beer! One of the best dark ale I have ever tasted. Smell and taste are based around honey, but just what it has to be to be perfect!

Tap. Pours muddy purple-brown, cappuccino head. Hazy, beyond opaque. Honey and fig, massive raisin, molasses, toffee. Full mouthfeel, bordering on luscious. Very sweet. Great beer, can’t believe I never tried this before.

Zwart bier met schuim. Smaak is sterk en krachtig, licht bitter en licht zoetzuur met sporen van anijs en drop. Blijft lang hangen.

Poured a dark brown color with a foamy tan head. The nose is malty with toffee, raisins, cherries, wood and bread. The body is full, carbon well, texture a oily. Taste is bitter and sweet. Palate is overhelmed by ripe fruits like cherries, figs, raisins, but also with smoked touches, anis, sweet fennel etc. Bitter aftertaste. B@H

33 cl bottle, drank at home. Dark brown beer. Aroma is mostly caramel, with some fruits, some kind of nut, and also a burned smell. Mild bitter taste. Not a fan of dark beer, but this one is decent.

I was pleasantly surprised by this trappist. The aroma right off had a mysterious mix between honey sweetness and a soury salty flavor I couldnt put my finger on. Finally I realized it smelled like green olive juice, which I quite enjoy. The appearance is average, a murky reddish brown with nothing special about it. Taste is dominated by the honey with some nutty flavor. A bit bitter and dry on the palate, but no alcohol burn at all and overall very smooth. I enjoyed this and think its a goos trappist overall.

Un bière brune, fortement épicée au nez avec une bouche ample, riche, et une longue finale onctueuse et épicée. Un bière de repas à essayer sur un civet.
