"This one defied style a bit. Oddly hopped...not sure of the variety used but it was jam packed with flavor and aroma for a 5% brew. I dug this one, though it paled in comparison to the IPAs. Get it? Paled??"

Clear golden color, small white head. Not much aroma, some light maltyness. Light-bodied. Dusty, a bit woody hoppyness. Light lingering Saaz bitterness in the finish. Not the most interesting beer, not much going on.

riversideAK (5625) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2009
Aroma is of a touch of old cut grass and a little malt. Pours a golden tone with no head. The flavor is also a touch malty, I guess sweat is the way Tom describes it, and that could work. Some grassy hops, a touch of sweetness. Lingering off flavors in the mouth akin to the amber ale.

Draft at the brewpub. Possibly the wooden spoon of the evening. Crystal clear medium amber with a slim gray rim. Sweaty neutral-ish nose. Watery light body. Butter and sweat mid-palate. Blecch.

On tap at Engine House #9 in Tacoma, WA--Copper orange pour, murky and par for the course as far as appearance goes. Nose of caramel malt sweetness and mild hoppiness. Unbalanced, sweet, dull mouthfeel. Homebrewy. Not very complex at all. So far these EH9 brews are quite disappointing.
