Has a very dark brown color and a roasted coffee/malt smell. Taste was of the roasted coffee/malt/chocolate and finishes with a slight bitterness. Overall a great porter.

Served on hand pump at Toronado. Oh God this was nice, with that smooth, natural English ale mouthfeel. Very chocolatey for a porter, almost a chocolate stout. Light coffee tones, with a dry malty backbone, like a milk dud. I could drink pint after pint of this, methinks.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 Fresh coffee aroma, poured black with no head..Alcohol comes out in the flavor, but brewer said it was only 5%, a black coffee flavor predominated and lasts throughout the aftertaste

Good fine foam, looks but isn’t nitro. Good nose with burnt, coffees and chocolate. The taste is semi-dry, a bit wet and low efferevescence with a crisp and easy finish. Peter Blackwell knows what he’s up to!
