Served on hand pump at Toronado. Oh God this was nice, with that smooth, natural English ale mouthfeel. Very chocolatey for a porter, almost a chocolate stout. Light coffee tones, with a dry malty backbone, like a milk dud. I could drink pint after pint of this, methinks.

Good fine foam, looks but isn’t nitro. Good nose with burnt, coffees and chocolate. The taste is semi-dry, a bit wet and low efferevescence with a crisp and easy finish. Peter Blackwell knows what he’s up to!

Has a very dark brown color and a roasted coffee/malt smell. Taste was of the roasted coffee/malt/chocolate and finishes with a slight bitterness. Overall a great porter.

tap at toronado on hand pumpage: creamy sticky head. the foam hugs the side of a glass like the hands of a lover. pitch black body. aroma is stinky. stinky like my pinky after a casual encounter with chubber. the palate is med. thickness. the coffee is strong in this one. a little burn on my tongue . some cherry & licorice flavors.

On tap at the Toronado. This was the cask conditioned version. Black with a white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted barley, and anise. Milk sweetness is very delightful. Body is fairly light. Just delicious.
