Gravity at Birmingham Beer Fest. Smooth, with strength rising on the finish. Largely malty and thick. Some hinted smoke to finish. Not my fave type of Mild, but gets better.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown beer, suddy tan head. Light dry palate. Whisper of sulphur. Fresh dark malt, minerals. Trace of roast. Some hop bitterness in the semi dry finish. If not for the sulphur then this would have been decent.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’10. Brown with white head. Lots of sweetness going on in this, a little over the top for me. Plummy fruitiness going to prune. Drinkable if not to my taste.

Cask at GBBF08. Plastic aroma. Black colour, frothy light brown head. Good roasted flavour, nicely fruity and with a nicely rough finish.

Cask, third pint. A rusty tint to an otherwise black body. Brief aromatic hints of roasted malt. Flavoured with tart fruits and dark malts. Light bodied and watery texture, but alright as a partner to a burger (GBBF, 08.08.2008).

Cask at GBBF 2007. A syrup brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of fruit and prunes. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of prunes as well as light roasted malt, which also lends the beer a slight acidity, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish.

Comments: Coffee-focused mild with less complexity than most, but a pleasant vanilla touch.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear medium amber black color with virtually none head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, caramel, mocca, toffee, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat.

Cask@GBBF2007. Really dark amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is mild roastiness, but mainly dark fruits. Flavour is dark fruits along with vanilla and some wood. Flavour is dark fruits along with vanilla and some wood. Really nicely balanced and different.

Nice Mild beer, not too strong in flavour, but it did its work. NIce colour with some red features. Good foam.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2006. Pours a black colour with a small tan head. Fruity aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweet malty slightly fruity flavor, hints of dark fruits. Sweet malty finish.
