Cask, Cov 09. Pretty much pitch with an attractive but shortlived little yellowy attempt at a head. Raisiny fruitcake aroma. Thinnish, grainy, sweet and not especially roasty compared to some of the other delights on the menu. Even Octo said too sweet. Hints of liquorice and roast as it warms up. Too sugary for me, even with this bastard of a cold.

Cask at the Ealing beer fest. Rates start getting a bit special here. How can a scumbag like that get away with sandbagging a doctor of journalism! Overly roasty porter.

Half on gravity at London Drinker BF 08, evening session. No head. Black body with ruby hints. The light aroma is predominantly sweet dark fruits and malt. A rather unusual taste for a porter with hop resin, dark fruits and notes of honey sweetness. Smooth bitter finish. Medium palate (12.03.2008).

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Sussex Beer Festival.
Black as night with a thin tan head. Aroma is very sweet and topped up with cereal and some fresh unbrewed malt, very green. Flavour is better. In all hoesty this isn’t usually my thing, milky ceral and almost tea but not quite. Good malt, nice hops, well balanced, especially in the finish. Really tasty and interesting, even if my notes do make it sound crap. Much more old ale than porter by the way.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Not that dark for a porter. Fruity but a bit thin. The malts are light and biscuity. Just a dab of liquorice. The flavours lacked something in depth and definition. OK but I’m sure it can be better than this. Tasted a bit tired to me.

Gravity cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. A little roast to start. Sweet blackcurranty malts. Easy drinking and relaxing.
