Cask, gravity, at Peterborough BF ’08. Pale gold. Slight sulphur in the aroma. Very sweet slightly citric taste, though rather flaccid and watery. A little bitterness. Both the name and the beer lack impact.

(Cask at John Augustus, Liverpool, 20 July 2009) Pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with tart hints of lemon and a slightly soapy wheat character. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, canned peaches, grass and some wheaty sweetness in the finish. Rather light body, fairly low bitterness. A decent and summery golden wheat ale.

Cask, Bear and Billett, Chester. The first beer of my 35th birthday!.....shame it wasn’t a better one. Clear golden colour with a creamy white head. Grassy, malty aroma. Sweetish flavour with wheat, citrus and yeast notes. A bit watery. Dry finish. Downable.

Cask handpull at The Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Pale gold with thick off white head. Wheat in this I think (and there is). Creamy cereal and citrus aroma. Fairly standard English wheat citrus bitter. Some farty yeast. Cereal gives it body.
