COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brainless® Belgian just got corrupted with hops! Brainless®: Corruption is our second collaboration beer with DC Brau (the first was Fermentation w/o Representation). DC Brau and Epic, both honored with invitations to SAVOR(SM), will be serving this beer in Washington DC as a celebratory beverage during the craft beer and food event in June. We brewed our award winning Brainless® Belgian Golden Ale and let DC Brau corrupt it with four types of hops, including the fruity Citra in the dry hop. Brainless®: Corruption starts out with a wonderful aroma of pineapple, hops and tart fruit. On first sip you taste that familiar cotton-candy and bubble gum sweetness of Brainless® that quickly gives way to a hoppy storm of tropical fruit and tart citrus that lingers on the tongue. Note: the only way to identify this beer is near the ABV marking where is says Corruption.

Great example of how you really can do Belgian and pale ale and have it work. So many times these beers just sort of suck with the flavors clashing as opposed to working with each other. Growler fill from Aw Shucks. Light to medium orange, decent head, clear. Aroma is pineapple citrus with a piney note and a touch of alcohol. Gummy malts move into a hoppy finish, loads of pineapple, a bit of pine, and then a streak of anise and slight phenolic spice. End of flavor is touch of alcohol and lingering bitterness. Very nice take here, pleasantly surprised.

Sampled this on draft at DC Brau’s brewery. Poured deep gold with a smallish white head. Some nice Belgian elements, some light bubblegum, candy sugar, earthy yeast; lots of caramel, deep malt; peach, mango, and other tropical fruit; layers of pineapple, citrus, earthiness from the hops. Thick mouthfeel. Quite a lot going on here, but quite nice. Far and away my favorite of the beers I sampled at DC Brau’s brewery (I was otherwise rather disappointed).

ChrisO’s Pre GBBF ’Are You Scottish?’ tasting. Light haze on this gold beer, light pale cream coloured head. Light palate, soft and airy with light carbonation. Tastes like NZ hops - light floralness and a lime and citrus peel. Finishes light and fresh with all flavours coming together. Very nice!

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013, 10/08/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is bitter orange, juicy light tropical notes, hops, grass. Taste comprises juicy hop notes, orange pith, touch of grapefruit, light yeast tones, tropicals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with hop bitterness. Not getting too much Belgian in this, more a well balanced hoppy number - a definate revisit!
