COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Brown coloured body with little head. Just spice, perhaps a touch of pumpkin in the finish. Roasted coffee taste. Decent drinkability. Spiced out, pumpkined out.And the spices could have been better.Medium mouthfeel. Liam’s bottle.

Tap sample. Hazy dark brown color, almost opaque, nice mocha head. Aroma of squash, roasted coffee and ash. Dark chocolate covered raisins, sweet pumpkin and nutmeg. Med-full body, medium bitterness, nice finish and overall coolness.

Bomber. Excellent all around. Great complex flavors - pumpkin, chocolate and a little coffee. Full body, rich. Strong recommend.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with medium head. Aromas of pumpkin for sure with chocolate, vanilla, spices, maltiness. Taste is a rich chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves. A different pumpkin beer as the malts were the hero here. Actually I think this is my first pumpkin porter. Great finishing palate.

22oz bottle via trade. Brown with a thick, foamy, light tan head. Aroma of ginger, cardamon, chocolate, pumpkin and brown bread. Flavor is doughy brown malt with some spices and light pumpkin. Medium body with average carbonation. Seems more like a brown ale base, but nice none the less.

Bottle: nice, dark ruby brown color with a small tan head. Rich, sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor is nice... All porter but twisted in there is the wonderful pumpkin pie spiciness. This is a nice beer, Very unique in a tasty way.

Pumpkin is a much better combination in a porter than in lighter styles, as the roasted, chocolate porter is a much better balancing force to the sometimes aching vegetal quality of the pumpkin. This beer comes across as extremely drinkable, with a moderate spiciness and moderate pumpkin pie flavor, but with a more dominant porter sensibility. It makes it interesting without being overwhelming. Reasonable palate, somewhat tingly without being fizzy. Very drinkable with little sense of its 8% abv. Bottle.

Poured into glass from 22 oz bottle. Aroma- awful. Smell likes wet dog or pee. Appearance- dark auburn with stoutlike frothy head. Taste- tastes like dirt or leaves in a good way. Doesnt take like beer but a thin mud liquid. Palate- same as above. Very earthy aftertaste. Overall- one of the most unique beers i have had. Pretty good and interesting on occasion. Rating could be higher as 3.2

Dark coffee color. Sweet maple aroma. Tastes like grass and chocolate. Strange but not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of overripe pumpkin, chocolate, and nutmeg. Pours deep brown with slight head. Taste is strong squash pumpkin with a roasty dirt aftertaste. Solid and dark. Could be sweeter.
