COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Bomber. Thanks to Albert of AQ. Good coffee nose, with pumpkin and spice. Very spicy initial flavor; mid palate has chocolate; finish lets the chocolate develop more. Thin-medium body. I hate pumpkin pie, but I like this.

22oz bomber. Deep brown-black body, big beige head holds steady. This is definitely one of my favorite pumpkin beers, though it has more of a chocolate character truthfully. Delightfully mellow and fluffy on the palate, no harsh alcohol tones to speak of. Caramel chocolate covered pumpkin, with some nice spices to balance it out. Really sublime and excellent.

Darwenus (530) - Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2012
Pours brown with rust/orange highlights and a medium head that leaves a little lacing. The aroma is where the pumpkin comes through, and only mildly. The taste is vanilla, coffee, kind of a slight Dr. Pepper kind of thing going on, and a little bit of bite at the end. It isn’t a bad beer, but I won’t have it again.

penstemon (127) - - OCT 29, 2012
Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a small tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon. Taste of cocoa powder, more cinnamon and pumpkin, nutmeg, roasted malt, hints of molasses and cola. Finishes pretty dry. The squash flavor is subtle, and this beer is really dominated by the roasty dark chocolate and spice notes. Well done.

Brouwerij (914) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Poured into pint glass, forms one finger of light tan head than dissipates after several minutes. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted malts. Taste is sweet. A pleasant combination of spice and pumpkin upfront. Transitions to flavors of toasted malt and chocolate. Moderate body and carbonation give it a pleasant mouthfeel, smooth finish. Does a good job of masking the alcohol. Overall, a drinkable and delicious pumpkin porter.

Very deep copper, light brown, clear, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bready Munichy-like malt, toffee, spices and pumpkin. Flavor is similar with spices more dominant. Medium-full body. Nice Halloween beer. This rating done on year-old bottle (release No. 5). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours deep brown without much head, just a slight tan halo. Leaves moderate lacing. Taste is pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Taste is marshmallows and fresh pumpkin. Not nearly the spice bomb the aroma would suggest, which is a great thing for me! Really love this beer.

22 oz. Clear, dark chocolate color with a small ring of cream. Nose of dry cocoa, light dusty spice, and caramel. Taste is the same stuff, plus some milk chocolate and oat. Near medium body is balanced and has low carbonation.

Release #6. Nice cloudy brown with a beige head rhat leaves a little lacing. Aroma is pumpkin, ginger, cloves, figs, chocolate. Slightly spicy on the palate with some upfront maltiness followed by a slightly bitter and vegetal finish. Taste is pumpkin pie, chocolate, burnt sugar, vanilla. A little lacking in depth and a touch unbalanced.

Release #6. Pours a rusty root beer brown with a creamy tan head. The nose is vanilla, bourbon, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice. It also has hints of bitter chocolate. The pallet is pumpkin pie, burnt sugar, vanilla, spiced cake, and chocolate. It finshes with a bitter hoppiness and bitter sweet chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
