COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Bomber. Pours dark brown with a small foamy head that lingers nicely. Aroma is pumpkin pie spices with some light roastiness and chocolate. Taste is smooth and creamy. Nice balance of lightly roasted coffee, chocolate, and pumpkin pie spices. Thin to medium body, very smooth and easy drink, nice creaminess. Really good pumpkin porter.

Bottle. Dark bowman pour, almost black, with a light tan head. More pumpkin in the aroma than in the flavor. Roasted malt, a bit of cocoa, dark fruit, and pumpkin. The beer doesn’t come together terrificly well. Ok.

Smells like pumpkin but very slight pumpkin flavors. Dark fruit yes but not much specific pumpkin. Not the best stuff.

Malty alcohol aroma with a touch of alcohol; black appearance with tan frothy head; chocolate, malt flavor with a touch of pumpkin; fizzy on the palate with a slight bitter finish; overall, an okay porter that doesn't bungle the pumpkin flavor but a little more pumpkin flavor and something smoother on the palate would have made this extraordinary instead of average ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amazing in every shape of the form, loved this! A porter with a strong pumpkin flavor? Yes please!

Almost no head. Spiced, sweet, mild roasted aroma. Sweet malt flavor, with the spices. A little roasted flavor. Subtle aroma and flavor from the pumpkin. Maybe a little astringent.

More "pumpkin beer" than Porter--but pretty good. (Release #13)

Bomber. Pours a dark black brownish color with a small head. Nose is roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, malt and sweet, cannot really appreciate any knockout pumpkin flavor or fall spices. Finish is sweet with chocolate and coffee. Great porter but without pumpkin representation. Quaff Score 7 / 10 ... ( rated as a pumpkin porter ? )

Pours a dark brown red with a tan head and aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is roasty, lots of chocolate and roasted malt with coffee, alcohol, and light spice leading to a warming, roasted finish

Dark brown pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and pumpkin, nothing else. Taste of roasted malts, slight chocolate and pumpkin. Nice carbonation. Very boring pumpkin beer with so many great offerings out there.

Draft pour. Darker brown with lots of beige head. Roast, spice, nuts. Bigger bodied with a sticky mouthfeel
