3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 22, 2013 At Keyaki as Pumpkin Porter. Dark brown, small golden head. Taste is pumpkin and spice, sweetness. Maybe little too sweet. Aroma is similar , lots of spicing. Bit of chocolate too, but not quite there for me.
Rerate: 22/10/13 Aroma is more bitter chocolate than pumpkin. Although is a bit fruity too. Tastes good. Quite interesting. Not so much pumpkin but it is lingering there which is quite welcome. Bit of sweetness, touch of booze, fruity too. Lightly spicy. Have to say, I prefer it this time. Obviously helps if you are not totally shit-faced.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep brown. Not much on the nose, some roasted malt. Round mouthfeel with high carbonation. Spice is subdued, mostly nutmeg in taste, which I appreciate, but didnít get any pumpkin really. Fair enough, but really just a spiced porter.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft - pours near black with tan head. Nose is lactose. Sip introduces pumpkin. Thought it was a pumpkin beer with porter qualities, but it turned out to be a porter with pumpkin. Light roast bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Denver location. Pour is slightly hazy brown with a frothy tan head and great lacing. Roasty, pumpkiny, nutmeg, cinnamon, light cocoa, bready, and earthy aroma. Taste is big earthy pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice, pepper, brown sugar, and bready with roasty finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Decent pumpkin, but not my favorite.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Epic - Denver. Pours pitch black. Slight lacing. Sweet pumpkin aroma, malt bitterness, and spice. Very malty forward then moving into spicy pumpkin. Not too much to overwhelm the rest of the beer. Very well balanced and really great Pumpkin beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours black with a tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a combination of dry roasted malts and coffee with some sweet coffee, vanilla and marshmallow supported by a decent amount of spice. Flavor starts with roasted malts and sweet chocolate but has a bit of coffee, roasted malts and pumpkin pie towards the finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle, Release #9, 8.1% ABV. I checked Epicís website, and it says it was brewed on 6/26/2012, packaged on 7/8/2012. Looks like our local beer stores are still selling last yearís bottles since I just picked this up a few weeks ago, kinda surprised since I didnít see it around last year. Oh well, this should still be good. Served in a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about an inch tan head that stayed around for a long time. Thereís also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like roasted/grainy malt, pumpkin, nutmeg, cloves, bittersweet chocolate and cinnamon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some ginger. Nice mix between pumpkin and porter. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís coating, smooth and easy to drink with moderate carbonation. I liked this brew a lot, although I would like to try a fresher bottle of this at some point. Definitely worth a try. $5.99 a bomber.
