Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Reviewed from notes. A. Pours a dark brown orange, 1 finger thick head, great lacing and rests at a 1mm head S. Mild to no smell, pumpkin and a hint of light chocolate. T. Tastes of sweet pumpkin, lots of orange and a hint of spices, but not too much. M. Medium body, high carbonation, mildly chewy and coarse. O. A pretty decent beer, but could use a more over the top pumpkin flavor. It was very blended and more simple than what you normally get from Epic.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Stas & Vova. Deep amber with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, some toast, pumpkin, pie spices, cookie and a bit of vanilla. Sweet flavor, spicy, with caramel, some pumpkin, toast, a bit of chocolate and a drier finish with a bitterish hint. Medium-bodied.

Appearance: pours with a medium large tan head that settles into a small head with moderate density, the beer is very black and I can't see thru it even when I hold it up to the light Aroma: creamy vanilla, very faint chocolate and pumpkin Taste: hints of pumpkin throughout, chocolate, not to bitter on the finish, Palate: feels warm in the mouth, medium mouthfeel, minimal chocolate aftertaste, average carbonation Overall: this is a good beer, it's flavors and aromas are very subtle, hides the abv well, good winter beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown pour. Big tan head. Plenty of lacing. Smells like chocolate pumpkin pie. Taste is malty with some chalky spice-ness. Decent.
